Godello is a white-wine grape originating in the northwest of Spain in Galicia. Not much of it is grown elsewhere. After being rescued from near extinction in the 1970s it is now one of Spain's two most important white wines, Albariño being the other. It can be found in a variety of styles and can be either oaked or unoaked. It can be compared to Chardonnay in this way.
