Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Medium-to-high intensity nose, savoury with dried fig, raisin, prune and blackberry aromas that echo nicely on the smooth palate. It has a sinewy mouthfeel and finishes long and smooth. Tasted Nov/2014.
Monte Del Frá Lena Di Mezzo Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$53.95
Blend of 65% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, and 15% Corvinone, this highly aromatic Amarone has earthy, iron, fig, dark currant, red licorice and hints of sweet spice. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with silky tannins, nicely balanced and appealing aroma replays that are off-dry. Acids are mouth-watering, while the finish length is very good. Tasted Nov/2015.
Southbrook Poetica Red 2012, VQA Niagara On The Lake, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$54.95
Blend of 46% Cab Sauv, 26% Cab Franc, 26% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot. Organic and biodynamic. Plum and wood aromas from the cork. Highly aromatic earthy, barnyard nose followed by sweet spice and dark berries. It's medium-to-full bodied with dark, brooding and refined tannins. Delicious aroma replays offer rich layers of baking spice, cassis, floral, blackberry, and sweet oak that persist through to the long, slightly warm finish that is supported by excellent fruit concentration and tannin. Acids are mouth-watering. Amazing right now, enjoy until 2025. Tasted Dec/2015.
Closson Chase Closson Chase Vineyard Chardonnay 2013, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$29.95
Highly aromatic nose of peach, pear, butter, and some smoky notes that replay very nicely on the balanced, medium+ bodied palate. There's a fine texture and slight creaminess on the palate. Acids are nicely balanced, while the finish length is excellent. Tasted Apr/2015.
Stratus Red 2016, Niagara On The Lake | Niagara Lakeshore
Ontario, Canada$39.25
Always a blend, the 2016 Stratus Red consists of 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Syrah, 10% Malbec, 7% Tannat, and 5% Petit Verdot. It has a rich, medium-high intensity nose of dark berry/cherry, blackberry, and oak spice aromas. It's full-bodied and ripe on the palate with nice replays, plus some vanilla accents. Firm tannins are a touch chalky and will reward ageing, while mouthwatering acids keep things juicy. The long finish has vanilla, spice, and dark berry notes. Best enjoyed after 2-3 years in the cellar. Tasted Nov/2019.

Some stony mineral notes arrive on the mid-palate. Acids are fresh and well-balanced while tannins have some structure. Poised, persistent finish with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Nies'chen Riesling Kabinett 2014, Pradikätswein
Mosel, Germany$27.95
