Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Nativ Bicento 2013, Doc Irpinia Campi Taurasini
Campania, Italy$42.00
100% Aglianico. Medium-high intensity aromatics are complex with spicy, blackberry, dark berry, leather, herbs, earth, and a touch of savoury funk. Some smoky mineral notes develop with air. Full-bodied & concentrated with nicely balanced aroma replays, plus black pepper, fig, and floral nuances supported by fresh, bright acidity to keep things quite light on the palate. Firm, drying, mouth-puckering tannins have a dusty & chalky texture. Excellent Finish length with dark berry, black plum, licorice, & spice flavours. Lovely savoury-earthy character throughout. Better in 5 yrs. Tasted Nov/2018
Cave Spring Csv Riesling 2016, Cave Spring Vineyard, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$29.95
Highly aromatic with lovely, clean orange citrus, peach, mineral, and beeswax aromas. The palate is crunchy with bright acids. Flavours are a touch off-dry with nicely balanced aroma replays. Grapefruit notes arrive on the mid-palate and continue through to the long minerally finish, with excellent length. Tasted Feb/2019.
Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Nies'chen Riesling Kabinett 2014, Pradikätswein
Mosel, Germany$27.95
Medium-high intensity nose that has stony mineral, grapefruit, white peach, and honeysuckle aromas. Acids are bright refreshing on the semi-sweet palate with very nice aromas replays along with earthy/mineral notes. Honeyed finish with excellent length. Tasted May/2016.
Vina Tondonia Red Reserva 2006, Rioja Alta
Rioja, Spain$59.95
A blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 5% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo, this medium-high intensity nose of red cherry, strawberry, florals with subtle nuances of forest floor. It is medium-full bodied with supple, integrated, and fine, dusty textured tannins with lovely aroma replays. Acids are very good, while the mid-palate has a slightly tart, sour cherry character. Long, earthy finish. Maturing well, and should continue to drink well into the late 20's. Tasted Oct/2019.
Il Poggione Brunello Di Montalcino 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$72.95
100% Sangiovese, this has fairly intense aromatics that are savoury with dark red cherry, earthy, and forest floor aromas with whiffs of floral. It's full-bodied with juicy acids and smooth, fine tannins. Elegant in the mouth with a very nice mouthfeel and lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile. Nicely balanced throughout with a long finish and should continue to drink well over the next 10+ years. Tasted Feb/2020.
Cave Spring Csv Riesling 2015, Cave Spring Vineyard, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$29.95
Highly aromatic and very appealing nose of mineral and petrol with herbally hints and whiffs of orange citrus. It's off-dry on the palate, with lovely aroma replays, and lively acids balancing the sweetness. Excellent finish length. Consistently superb, year-after-year. Tasted Mar/2017.
Caparzo La Casa Brunello Di Montalcino 2013, Docg Tuscany
Tuscany, Italy$79.95
Highly aromatic nose, offering earthy, bretty, and savoury minerality. The full-bodied, structured palate is also very savoury and earthy with hints of olive. Juicy acids and excellent finish length. Tasted Mar/2018.
Réva Barolo 2013, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$59.95
The nose is highly aromatic with lovely Morello cherry, red berry, clove, floral, spice and some underlying earthiness. It is medium+ bodied on the palate with nicely managed, fine-grained tannins that have some grip. Very nicely balanced overall with lovely replays on the flavour profile. Juicy acids are balanced and the finish length is excellent. Enjoyable now or over the next 10 years. Tasted Oct/2018.
Masi Costasera Riserva Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$69.95
Bright plum, dried fruit, and dried cherry aromas. The medium-bodied palate is silky smooth with off-dry (i.e. slightly sweet) aroma replays that are warming. Very good fruit extraction with fruit holding up well to the 15.5% abv. The finish length is very long and completes on the dry side. Yummy! Tasted Oct/2016.
