Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.

Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.

Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

$209.95

Fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose exudes elegance with ripe red & black fruits, strawberry, cassis, red currant, wood spices & black cherry aromas, plus savoury cocoa and clove adding further complexity. On the dry, medium-full bodied palate it has an elegant mouthfeel & ripe, fine-grained tannins which support the ripe black cherry, currant, cassis, bright red berry, strawberry, and raspberry flavours accented by fine oak spice. Acids are juicy and well-balanced, with a slight tangy red berry character. Savoury, earthy notes linger on the very long & smooth finish. Tasted Oct. 2024.

Isole E Olena Chianti Classico 2019, D.O.C.G. San Donato In Poggi
Tuscany, Italy
$44.95

Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, and 5% Syrah. Elegant, dark red fruited, cherry, sweet spice, peppery spice, and hints of dark berry aromas rise out of the glass with great intensity. On the medium-full to full-bodied palate it is impressively concentrated with very nice, balanced aroma replays on the flavour profile and supported by very good, crisp acidity. Present tannins are a touch tight at the moment and will reward ageing. Excellent length on the finish. Tasted May 2022.

Aurelio Settimo Rocche Dell'annunziata Barolo 2017, Docg

$54.95

The medium-high to- highly aromatic nose seems a bit shy, but offers very pretty aromas of ripe red cherry, rose floral, raspberry, orange zest, and oak spice. It's big, full-bodied and firmly structured with fresh acidity and lovely, flavourful aroma replays on the palate. Long, juicy, spiced finish. Chewy tannins are very young at this stage. Will reward with 4-5 years in the cellar. Tasted Oct. 2022.
