Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Montes Purple Angel 2017, Do Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$69.95
A blend of 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot, the 2017 is tightly wound at this stage with perfumed dark berry, herb, grilled red pepper, and wood spice aromas. It's medium-full bodied with very good fruit concentration and lovely, balanced aroma replays framed by elegant tannins. Acids are well-balanced. Excellent length with savoury touches on the finish. I would tuck this away for a couple of years and drink to 2030. Tasted Nov/2019.
Domaine Pinson Frères Mont De Milieu Chablis 1er Cru 2021, Ac
Burgundy, France$61.75
Elegant, refined, medium+ to medium-high intensity aromatics offers ripe lemon citrus, stony minerality & apple with accents of white peach. It's medium-bodied w/ a lovely chewy, well-structured & textured mouthfeel with complex, ripe flavours of lemon citrus, apple, oyster-shell, and leesy mineral accented w/ orange & honey notes, plus touches of vanilla & butter. It's juicy w/ succulent acidity & has a chalky textured mouthfeel on the mid-palate. Excellent length on the elegant finish which lingers for minutes, with stony, leesy mineral notes, plus touches of honey & apple. Tasted Oct. 2023.

Chile$209.95
Fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose exudes elegance with ripe red & black fruits, strawberry, cassis, red currant, wood spices & black cherry aromas, plus savoury cocoa and clove adding further complexity. On the dry, medium-full bodied palate it has an elegant mouthfeel & ripe, fine-grained tannins which support the ripe black cherry, currant, cassis, bright red berry, strawberry, and raspberry flavours accented by fine oak spice. Acids are juicy and well-balanced, with a slight tangy red berry character. Savoury, earthy notes linger on the very long & smooth finish. Tasted Oct. 2024.
Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello Di Montalcino 2018, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$78.00
Lovely, open, and fragrant, this has a beautiful, highly aromatic nose of bright red cherry, rose petal, floral, and baking spice, plus hints of attractive orange zest. It's full-bodied, well structured, and dry with lovely red cherry, earth, and floral flavours that are harmonious. It's juicy with well-balanced acidity, while the ripe tannins are integrating nicely and very approachable already. Finish is long and juicy. Should evolve nicely over the next 10 years. Tasted Nov. 2022. Score: 93+ pts

The fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose delivers bright fruited aromas of currant, cranberry, dark red berry, floral, and minerality in a complex profile. On the dry, medium+ bodied palate it has clean, well-balanced acidity that lifts the aroma replays on the palate with particular notes of mineral, floral, currant, and black cherry. The subtle nose seems a bit shy, offering delicate, yet complex aromas of red apple, pear, spice, mealy, mineral, and vanilla notes. The flavoursome medium-full bodied palate is dry and elegant with very nicely balanced flavours of red apple, vanilla, and pear replays joined by buttery, flinty mineral, and touches of spice in a complex profile. Aurelio Settimo Rocche Dell'annunziata Barolo 2017, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$54.95
The medium-high to- highly aromatic nose seems a bit shy, but offers very pretty aromas of ripe red cherry, rose floral, raspberry, orange zest, and oak spice. It's big, full-bodied and firmly structured with fresh acidity and lovely, flavourful aroma replays on the palate. Long, juicy, spiced finish. Chewy tannins are very young at this stage. Will reward with 4-5 years in the cellar. Tasted Oct. 2022.
