Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$143.95
This blend of 94.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4.2% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc has a fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose with evergreen, herbal, mint, cassis, currant, and sweet oak spice aromas. It's full-bodied with lovely aroma replays and fresh acidity. It has smooth, refined tannins with a supple grip, while the long-lasting finish is balanced and very satisfying. Has the structure and balance to drink well into the mid-2030s. Tasted Oct. 2022.
Nicolás Catena Zapata 2010, Mendoza

Highly aromatic with lovely notions of floral, raspberry, cherry and mineral notes with very nice aroma replays on the palate. It's full-bodied with good structure, depth and well-balanced. It has mouth-watering acids and smooth, refined tannins. Finishes long with slight earthy tones. Drink over the next decade. Outstanding! Tasted July/2015.

Very nice minty, cassis, oak and green/herbal aromas that are in complete harmony. Full-bodied and slightly round mouthfeel with mouth-watering acidity. Palate has very nice aroma replays and is well-balanced throughout. Tannins are well integrated and finishes long and very smooth. Drinking superbly now. Tasted Apr/2013.
Hardys Hrb Heritage Reserve Bin Shiraz 2007, Mclaren Vale & Clare Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$26.75
Bright and minty, licorice, pepper with red fruit aromas. Dark fruits and herbal pepper notes on the palate balanced by oak. Good amount of tannin for ageing another 3-5 years. Full-bodied with a long finish. Yum. Tasted May/2012.
Southbrook Poetica Chardonnay 2012, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$49.95
The poem on the front is a verse from "Keep a Few Embers From the Fire" by Canadian poet Chief Dan George. Bottle 348 of 2,664, this has a reductive nose of yellow pear, toasted nuts and some subtle baking spice notes. On the palate it has vibrant acidity on a honeyed flavoured profile with hints of pineapple, Golden apple, butter and vanilla. Medium-bodied with a slight oily and creamy texture. It's mouth-watering throughout, while the finish length is excellent. A special wine that should mature well over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Dec/2015.
Signorello Padrone Proprietary Red 2007, Napa Valley
California, Usa$155.00

Southbrook Organic Vidal Icewine 2014, VQA Niagara On The Lake (375ml)

Pours a deep golden colour. Intense and very complex aromas of honeyed peach, apricot, mango, caramel, spice, almond, candied citrus, and touches of ginger rise out of the glass. It's quite full-bodied on the concentrated, very sweet palate with lovely aroma replays supported by very good, mouth-watering acidity. Caramel, dried apricot, and honey notes linger on the finish, with excellent length. Ageing nicely. Tasted Dec/2020.
