Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Tawse Riesling Icewine 2009, Niagara (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Lovely peach and apricot aromas that follow through on palate, along with citrus notes. Very good acidity and long finish. Tasted Jan/2013.
Heitz Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Napa Valley
California, Usa$119.95
Medium-high aromatics with oak and barnyard leading the way, underlying black fruits. It's full-bodied with a plush mouthfeel and mouth-watering acids. Complex earthy flavours on the palate, along with spice, licorice, eucalypt, and hints of raisin. Velvety tannins. Long, earthy finish. Tasted Oct/2013.
Southbrook Organic Vidal Icewine 2014, VQA Niagara On The Lake (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$49.95
Pours a deep golden colour. Intense and very complex aromas of honeyed peach, apricot, mango, caramel, spice, almond, candied citrus, and touches of ginger rise out of the glass. It's quite full-bodied on the concentrated, very sweet palate with lovely aroma replays supported by very good, mouth-watering acidity. Caramel, dried apricot, and honey notes linger on the finish, with excellent length. Ageing nicely. Tasted Dec/2020.
Delaforce Vintage Port 2000, Doc, Portugal
Douro, Portugal$51.25
Fairly intense nose of spice and dried fruits such as fig, prunes, dates, and raisins. It is full bodied and dense with very nice, sweet aroma replays on the flavour profile. It's well-balanced throughout with no hard edges and an excellent finish length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Stratus Red 2012, VQA Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$48.20
Served decanted, this is highly aromatic, offering nicely perfumed bramble, cran-cherry, floral, and sweet baking spice aromas. It's full-bodied with dusty, refined tannins and lovely aroma replays. It has juicy acids, very good tannic structure for ageing, and excellent length on the finish. An elegant wine from a highly prized vintage. Bordeaux blend. Will be better in a few years. Tasted Oct/2016.
Val Di Suga Brunello Di Montalcino 2010, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$54.95
Medium-to-high intensity nose of earth, brett, red cherry and some wood elements. The palate is full-bodied with chalky tannins that provide very good structure to age well. It has juicy acids with flavours of cherry, wood and herbs. Very good length on the finish. Decant and serve now or enjoy over the next decade. Tasted Mar/2016.
Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Napa Valley
California, Usa$89.95
Medium-to-high aromatics featuring smoky mint, cassis, red plum and floral notes. The palate is medium-to-full bodied, elegant with refined tannins and very nice, balanced aroma replays. It has very good acidity and excellent length on the finish. Delicious! Tasted Apr/2015.
Aurelio Settimo Rocche Dell'annunziata Barolo 2010, La Morra
Piedmont, Italy$54.95
Medium-to-high aromatics featuring lovely exotic flower, red cherry and some earthy notes which echo very nicely on the full-bodied palate. It has mouth-watering acids and some heat on the palate but is balanced well by fruit concentration and tannic structure. Excellent length on the finish. Drinking well now but should be better in 3-4 years and drink easily over the next 12 years. Tasted Sept/2015.
Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Napa Valley
California, Usa$96.95

Very good acids and firm tannins. Excellent length on the finish. Drink now or cellar 4-6 years. Tasted Apr/2015.
