Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Montes Purple Angel 2016, Do Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$69.95
Fresh, fragrant aromatics deliver floral, purple fruits, violets aromas along with some spice, dark berry, and herbaceous notes. The medium-full bodied palate has lovely, balanced aroma replays supported by medium-firm tannins and very good acidity. Finishes long and herbally. 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot. Tasted Sept/2019.
Hidden Bench Fume Blanc Rosomel Vineyard 2016, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$29.95
This barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc has a reserved nose offering hints of grapefruit and herbs. The dry palate is medium-bodied and creamy with very nice aroma replays and impressive depth of fruit. Nicely balanced overall with very good acidity and subtle oak that is well-integrated. Excellent finish length. Should improve with time. Tasted Apr/2018.
Domaine Billaud Simon Mont De Milieu 1er Cru Chablis 2014, Ac
Burgundy, France$64.00
Medium+ intensity nose is elegant with lemon citrus, lime, and stone fruits aromas. The palate is bright and fresh with juicy acids, nice aroma replays and excellent length on the finish. Should be better in a couple of years. Tasted Apr/2017.
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Extra Brut Rosé Champagne 2012, Ac Champagne
Champagne, France$100.95
Tasted Nov/2019.
The Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Mount Veeder, Napa Valley
California, Usa$99.95
Highly aromatic with complex oak spiced, incense, mineral, pepper and blackberry notes. Full-bodied on the palate with very nice aroma replays supported by structured tannins and very good, juicy acids. Excellent finish length. Tasted Oct/2017.
Versado Reserva Ancient Malbec 2013, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$48.75
Medium-high intensity aromas that offer savoury, meaty, and smoked herb notes that follow through on the spicy, full-bodied palate. It is very smooth with refined tannins and juicy acidity. Excellent finish length with lingering smoky, peppery, and meaty notes. Tasted Oct/2019.
Masi Costasera Riserva Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$69.95
Bright plum, dried fruit, and dried cherry aromas. The medium-bodied palate is silky smooth with off-dry (i.e. slightly sweet) aroma replays that are warming. Very good fruit extraction with fruit holding up well to the 15.5% abv. The finish length is very long and completes on the dry side. Yummy! Tasted Oct/2016.
Stratus Red 2016, Niagara On The Lake | Niagara Lakeshore
Ontario, Canada$39.25
Always a blend, the 2016 Stratus Red consists of 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Syrah, 10% Malbec, 7% Tannat, and 5% Petit Verdot. It has a rich, medium-high intensity nose of dark berry/cherry, blackberry, and oak spice aromas. It's full-bodied and ripe on the palate with nice replays, plus some vanilla accents. Firm tannins are a touch chalky and will reward ageing, while mouthwatering acids keep things juicy. The long finish has vanilla, spice, and dark berry notes. Best enjoyed after 2-3 years in the cellar. Tasted Nov/2019.
Luce Della Vite Luce 2015, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$119.95
50/50 Sangiovese and Merlot. Medium-high intensity aromas are focused with cherry, clove, and oak spice. It's medium-full bodied on the structured palate with nicely oak-spiced aroma replays. Acids are very good and juicy. Some warmth. Excellent finish length. Better in 3-4 years and drink by 2028. Tasted Oct/2018.
