Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Il Poggione Brunello Di Montalcino 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$72.95
100% Sangiovese, this has fairly intense aromatics that are savoury with dark red cherry, earthy, and forest floor aromas with whiffs of floral. It's full-bodied with juicy acids and smooth, fine tannins. Elegant in the mouth with a very nice mouthfeel and lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile. Nicely balanced throughout with a long finish and should continue to drink well over the next 10+ years. Tasted Feb/2020.
Urbina Reserva 1998, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$42.95
This blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Mazuelo/Graciano has mature characters of red berry, earth, wet forest floor and wood spice aromas and flavours, with more sweet forest floor notes coming through on the medium bodied palate. Nicely balanced with very good acidity and refined tannins that have some grip. Long finish has more wet floor notes. Should develop further into the mid-20's. Tasted Sept/2019.
Caparzo La Casa Brunello Di Montalcino 2013, Docg Tuscany
Tuscany, Italy$79.95
Highly aromatic nose, offering earthy, bretty, and savoury minerality. The full-bodied, structured palate is also very savoury and earthy with hints of olive. Juicy acids and excellent finish length. Tasted Mar/2018.
Grgich Hills Estate Grown Chardonnay 2014, Napa Valley
California, Usa$67.95
Highly aromatic with smoky and reductive notes layered over pear, lemon pith, and orchard fruits. It's full-bodied and very concentrated on the palate with more reductive notes hovering over the fruit, which is revealed after some aeration. It has succulent acids and excellent finish length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Masi Costasera Riserva Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$69.95
Bright plum, dried fruit, and dried cherry aromas. The medium-bodied palate is silky smooth with off-dry (i.e. slightly sweet) aroma replays that are warming. Very good fruit extraction with fruit holding up well to the 15.5% abv. The finish length is very long and completes on the dry side. Yummy! Tasted Oct/2016.
Château Cos D'estournel Les Pagodes De Cos 2016, Ac Saint Estèphe
Bordeaux, France$91.95
Tasted Nov/2019.
Isole E Olena Chianti Classico 2016, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$34.95
A blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, and 5% Syrah, this Chianti Classico has a lovely, intense, and perfumed nose that is savoury with black cherry, leather, and earthy mineral aromas. It's medium-full bodied on the concentrated palate with impressive depth of fruit supported by lively acids. Lovely cherry, herb, and wood spice flavours on the palate with more savoury and cherry notes lingering on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Kistler Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay 2016, Sonoma Mountain, Sonoma County
California, Usa$114.95
Highly aromatic with pear, apple, and stone fruit with subtle oak, wood, and butter nuances in a slightly reductive profile. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with lovely aroma replays balanced by juicy acids. A touch warm on the very long finish. Tasted Oct/2018.
