Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.

Fresh, fragrant aromatics deliver floral, purple fruits, violets aromas along with some spice, dark berry, and herbaceous notes. The medium-full bodied palate has lovely, balanced aroma replays supported by medium-firm tannins and very good acidity. Finishes long and herbally. 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot. Tasted Sept/2019.
Marchesi Fumanelli Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$72.95
A blend of 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, and 20% Rondinella, this is a dense and concentrated Amarone offering medium-high intensity notes of ripe cherry, sweet berry, fig, sweet oak spice, tobacco, and hints of earthy aromas and flavours. It's full-bodied and warm on the palate, but well-balanced. Acids and tannins are also nicely balanced. The finish length is excellent. Enjoy over the next 7-8 years. Tasted Oct/2017.

Medium-high intensity nose is fragrant and pretty with raspberry, cherry, floral, potpourri, and spice, with a touch of stone aromas. The palate is light-to-medium bodied with light tannins and lovely aroma replays. Acids are fresh. Nicely balanced throughout and a lingering finish. Tasted Oct/2018.

Highly aromatic with pear, apple, and stone fruit with subtle oak, wood, and butter nuances in a slightly reductive profile. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with lovely aroma replays balanced by juicy acids. A touch warm on the very long finish. Tasted Oct/2018.

Captivating, highly aromatic nose offers elegant and refined aromas of golden apple, buttery, and pear with hints of butterscotch and caramel. It's medium-full bodied and richly layered and textured with lovely aroma replays, plus some touches of waxy and nutty notes. Vibrant acids freshen the palate. Finessed and balanced with excellent length on the long, nutty, toasty finish. Tasted Nov/2019.

Highly aromatic, fragrant nose featuring sweet oak spice scented, plus cherry, and cinnamon aromas. It's medium-full bodied and off-dry with very nice aroma replays. Grippy tannins are integrating nicely well. Acids are mouth-watering. Excellent finish length. Nicely balanced overall. Tasted June/2017.

Highly aromatic and elegant with lovely dark currant, dark berry, floral, and sweet spice aromas. It is full bodied, dense, structured, and crunchy with very good fruit concentration, and big, yet refined tannins. Very nice aroma replays on the flavour profile with juicy, mouth-watering acids. Long finishing with dark berry and currant notes. Enjoy over the next decade. Tasted Feb/2019.

High-toned, fragrant aromatics feature complex black tea, dark berry, dark cherry, wood spice, incense, and clove notes. It's full-bodied with lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile supported by vibrant acidity and structured tannins. Nicely balanced overall, although tight tannins could use 3-4 years to soften up. Excellent length on the long, fresh finish. Tasted Mar/2018. Score: 92+ pts
