Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Masi Costasera Riserva Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2011, Doc
Veneto, Italy$69.95
Bright plum, dried fruit, and dried cherry aromas. The medium-bodied palate is silky smooth with off-dry (i.e. slightly sweet) aroma replays that are warming. Very good fruit extraction with fruit holding up well to the 15.5% abv. The finish length is very long and completes on the dry side. Yummy! Tasted Oct/2016.
Peppertree Calcare Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$39.95
Medium-high intensity nose is ripe with currant, mint, cassis and wild berry notes that is just a touch jammy. It's full-bodied on the palate with nice aroma replays along with some pencil lead notes. Acids are bright and lift the medium-firm structured tannins. Finish length is excellent. Lovely. Tasted June/2017.
Urbina Reserva 1998, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$42.95
This blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Mazuelo/Graciano has mature characters of red berry, earth, wet forest floor and wood spice aromas and flavours, with more sweet forest floor notes coming through on the medium bodied palate. Nicely balanced with very good acidity and refined tannins that have some grip. Long finish has more wet floor notes. Should develop further into the mid-20's. Tasted Sept/2019.
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Extra Brut Rosé Champagne 2012, Ac Champagne
Champagne, France$100.95
Tasted Nov/2019.
Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Stags Leap District, Napa Valley
California, Usa$119.95
The medium-high intensity nose feels like it will offer more with a decant and offers complex incense, oak spice, black currant, cassis and earthy nuances, all of which come through on the full-bodied and richly concentrated palate which is lifted by lively, mouth-watering acids. Tannins are firm and structured, and the finish length is excellent. This will age easily 15 years. Tasted Oct/2017.
Luce Della Vite Luce 2015, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$119.95
50/50 Sangiovese and Merlot. Medium-high intensity aromas are focused with cherry, clove, and oak spice. It's medium-full bodied on the structured palate with nicely oak-spiced aroma replays. Acids are very good and juicy. Some warmth. Excellent finish length. Better in 3-4 years and drink by 2028. Tasted Oct/2018.
Luce Della Vite Luce 2014, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$119.95
A 50/50 blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, this has intense aromatics of lovely cherry, clove, rose floral, and sweet oak spice. It's full-bodied and dense with lovely oak spiced aroma replays with coconut and vanilla flavours joining the fray. Acids are bright and refreshing, lifting the firmly structured tannins. Excellent length. Needs a few years to settle down. Tasted Oct/2017.
Damilano Liste Barolo 2013, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$73.95
The nose is shy, revealing plummy, dark berry and floral notes. The full-bodied palate is big, dense, concentrated, and structured with very drying, grippy tannins. There's flavours of grilled herb, savoury oak spice and licorice notes. Acids are juicy while finish is excellent. A big wine to cellar away for at least 4-5 years and drink into the mid-2030's. Tasted Sept/2019.
Zuccardi Concreto Malbec 2016, Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$39.95
Tasted June/2017.
De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis Semillon 2016, New South Wales, Australia (375ml)
New South Wales, Australia$23.75
Highly aromatic and fragrant nose of apricot, pastry, honey, and caramel notes. It's full-bodied and sweet with fresh lemon citrus notes joining the very nicely balanced aroma replays on the flavour profile. Fresh acidity keeps it from being cloying. Spiced mid-palate adds further complexity and interest, and continues through to the finish, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019.
