Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Ornellaia 2013, Doc Bolgheri Superiore
Tuscany, Italy$239.95
Blend of traditional Bordeaux varietals. Highly aromatic with focused red cherry, clove, sweet spice and floral. It's full-bodied with refined, dusty tannins and balanced aroma replays. Lots of finesse. Ripe, structured tannins. Very good acids. Excellent finish length. Drink over the next decade. Tasted Oct/2016.
Gramona Iii Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature Cava 2006, Do Cava
Penedès, Spain$39.75
Slightly oxidative nose of medium+ intensity with notes of hazelnut, bread, toast and minerals. Crisp, mineral-driven aroma replays joined by grapefruit and lime pith notes on the flavour profile. Fine, luscious mousse. Just a touch of sweetness, but effectively dry due to the bright acids. Long, smooth finish. Tasted July/2015.
Cave Spring Riesling Icewine 2014, VQA Niagara Peninsula (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$49.95
Highly aromatic and very appealing with lovely apricot, peach, candied orange and honey aromas that flow through to the palate. It's very sweet, but has nicely balanced acids that keep everything in harmony. Long finish goes on and on. Very fine, indeed. Tasted July/2016.
Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello Di Montalcino 2008, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$64.95
Highly aromatic with tobacco, leather, earth, and red fruits in a savoury, elegant style. The palate is medium-to-full bodied with integrated tannins, slightly chalky mouthfeel, and pleasing aroma replays. This is a well-balanced wine with balanced acids, good structure and clean, long finish. Tasted Mar/2015.
Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva 2007
Tuscany, Italy$69.95
Aged 3.5 years in oak barrels. Highly aromatic nose featuring florals, plum, red cherry, sweet spice and hints of barnyard and earth. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with pleasing floral, red & black cherry and blackberry flavours with fresh, mouth-watering acids. Finish length is excellent. Has good structure, but tannins are still a bit tight - would cellar 3-4 years. Tasted Mar/2015.
Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Nies'chen Riesling Kabinett 2006, Pradikätswein
Mosel, Germany$19.95
Medium-high intensity aromas with honey, petrol, and peach notes coming from the glass. On the palate, there is lively acidity and flavours of ginger, peach and slate. Mature caramel notes also come through on the long finish. Tasted May/2013.
Greywacke Wild Sauvignon 2014, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$39.95
Wild fermented for more than 6 months, this has open, herbally, earthy, stone fruit, grapefruit, and lemon citrus aromas that are quite complex. The smooth, medium-bodied palate flavour profile follows bouquet with very good, balanced acidity. Excellent finish length. Tasted May/2017.
Grgich Hills Estate Chardonnay 2013, Napa Valley
California, Usa$67.95
Clean stonefruit, apple, and vanillan oak aromas with very good intensity. The elegant palate is medium-full bodied with a nice mineral texture, and nice aroma replays plus lemon, herbs and stony mineral flavours. It's structured and refined, and has balanced acids. Excellent length on the finish with some mineral notes. Tasted Apr/2017.
Ramey Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 2011, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$90.00
Highly aromatic nose featuring apple, pineapple and butterscotch notes. It's medium-to-full bodied on the palate with pleasing aroma replays Balanced acids and lengthy, oak-spiced finish. Tasted Oct/2014.

Holy moly! This blend of 46% Grenache, 39% Shiraz and 15% Mourvèdre offers gorgeous aromas of red fruit, ripe cherries and subtle milk chocolate. Crushed red berries and blueberries with hints of chocolate and mocha on the palate. Medium-full bodied. Could be aged another 5-6 years. Awesome! Tasted May/2012.
