Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Roda Reserva 2012
Rioja, Spain$52.95
This has a highly aromatic, fragrant, and complex nose of red cherry, dark berry, floral, forest floor, earth, and barnyard aromas. It's full-bodied with earthy and dark berry aroma replays. Richly structured tannins and balanced acids are nicely integrated. Finish length is excellent. Drink this lovely wine over the next 5-7 years. Tasted Oct/2017.
Shafer One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Stags Leap District, Napa Valley

Château Mont Redon Châteauneuf Du Pape 2015, Ac
Rhône, France$49.95
Somewhat shy nose offers glimpses of blackberry, garrigue, pepper, dark fruit and spice, all of which comes through without effort on the complex palate that is supported by fresh acidity. Tannins are refined and polished. Long, peppery finish. Tasted Oct/2018.
Lan Gran Reserva 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$34.95
Medium-high intensity nose has dried floral, dried cherry, and baking spice notes. The full-bodied palate has nice aroma replays plus some blackberry nuances, supported by very good acidity. Structured tannins are well-integrated. Excellent finish length. Will age 8+ years. Tasted Sept/2017.
Closson Chase Vineyard Chardonnay 2016, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$29.95
The nose is slightly reserved, offering hints of apple, pear, peach, butter and vanilla aromas. On the medium-full bodied palate, the aromas are nicely played out with very good, crunchy fruit, and nice depth. Hints of nut and earthiness add complexity. Nicely balanced overall with richness and hints of buttery vanilla notes on the very long finish. Tasted Apr/2018.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Napa Valley
California, Usa$89.95
Tasted Apr/2018.
Paxton Mv Shiraz 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Quite intense on the nose with lovely savoury, blackberry, earthy, and meaty aromas with hints of black pepper, licorice and oak. It is full-ish bodied on the palate with finely-grained and structured tannins. Nicely textured with juicy acids freshening the palate. On the flavour profile, there are blackberry, licorice, cedar oak spice, and vanillin notes with some peppery hints, all of which lingers nicely on the long, balanced finish. Tasted June/2019. Score: 90+ pts
Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir 2014, Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley
Oregon, Usa$37.95
Showing some maturity, this has an elegant and highly aromatic nose of tea leaf, dark cherry/berry, and beetroot. The medium+ body has a nice, plush mouthfeel with very nice aroma replays, plus forest floor and earthy notes adding complexity. Wood is nicely integrated. It was very good acidity and excellent finish length. Drinking really well right now. Tasted Apr/2018.
