Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Château De Fontaine Audon Sancerre 2018
Loire, France$32.95
From silex soils, this Sauvignon Blanc has a medium+ intensity nose that is flinty-stony-minerally with ripe stone fruit, citrus and apple notes adding interest. The palate is medium+ bodied with very good structure and weight to the fruit. Lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus white peach notes. It has juicy, vibrant acidity, while the long, elegant finish is flinty with lemon pith and citrus characters. Tasted Jan/2020.
Carpineto Riserva Chianti Classico 2015, Docg, Italy
Tuscany, Italy$29.95
A blend of mostly Sangiovese grown at 300 metres above sea level, this has a medium-intensity nose that is savoury with Cedar wood, clove spice, and earthy aromas. It's medium+ bodied with supple, textured tannins that become quite grippy on the mid-palate. Savoury, dark berry and clove spice flavours continue on the palate. Long and savoury with wood notes on the finish. Tasted Jan/2020.

Fresh and minerally on the nose with underlying ripe purple fruits, violet, blackberry, and touches of floral. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with dark currant, spice, violet flavours with a mineral underpinning. Fine tannins are well-integrated, while acids are balanced. Finishes long and balanced with some spice notes. Tasted Jan/2020.
La Grande Gardiole Châteauneuf Du Pape 2016, Ac

This blend of 65% Syrah, 25% Grenache, and 10% Cinsault has a ripe medium-high nose that is savoury with mineral, dark berry, and spice notions. It is full-ish bodied with fine, textured tannins on the structured palate with very good fruit concentration and density. Flavours of dark berry, blackberry, minerally hot stones. It has mouth-watering acids and a long juicy finish. Tasted Jan/2020.
Torbreck Old Vines Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre 2017, Barossa Valley
South Australia, Australia$24.95
This GSM blend of 62% Grenache, 26% Shiraz, and 12% Mourvèdre is open and complex on the nose with lovely aromas of red berry, strawberry, and cherry mingling with savoury, black pepper, dried spice, earth, and a touch of rosemary. The medium-full bodied palate has slightly maturing flavours of dried red and black berries, strawberry, raspberry, black pepper, and spices supported by fresh, lively acidity and smooth, refined, and lightly chalky tannins. Nicely balanced flavours throughout with savoury, earthy and red berry complexity on the long finish. Last tasted Aug/2021. Score: 90+ pts
Boasso Barolo Del Comune Di Serralunga D'alba 2015, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$39.95
Fragrant nose of nutmeg, wood spice, and ripe red cherries surrounded by earthy, forest floor notes. Hints of orange and floral also appear out of the glass. On the full-bodied palate, it has lovely, balanced aroma replays of ripe red cherry, earth, forest floor, rose floral, and nutmeg flavours. Acids are juicy and mouth-watering, while the smooth, structured tannins have some grip, but are very approachable right now. Orange, rose floral, earthy, and cedar oak spice notes linger on the long, structured, mouth-watering finish. Enjoy over the next 10+ years. Tasted Mar/2020.

It's light-to-medium bodied with fresh, vibrant acidity and spicy flavours of dark berry, black raspberry, earth, and balsamic. It has very smooth, refined tannins, while pleasing savoury-earthy notes with touches of balsamic and coffee linger on the long, balanced, juicy finish. Tasted Apr/2021.
