Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Domaine Drouhin Roserock Pinot Noir 2015, Eola Amity Hills, Willamette Valley
Oregon, Usa$41.95
Rich and highly aromatic with pretty raspberry, red cherry, mineral, and sweet oak spice. It is light-to-medium bodied on the palate with very nice aroma replays, plus some floral notes. Glossy tannins have a slightly chalky texture and some structure. Acids are bright and juicy, while the finish length is excellent. Still a bit young. Elegant and fine, indeed. Tasted Apr/2018. Score: 91+ pts
Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$34.95
Medium+ intensity aromatics deliver currant, cassis, herbs, and oak spice characters on the nose and palate. It's full-bodied with smooth, dense, chewy tannins with some chalkiness. More herbally on the mid-palate with balanced acids. Very good length on the finish. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec. Tasted Oct/2019.
Dr. Pauly Bergweiler Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett 2015, Prädikatswein
Mosel, Germany$23.95
Medium-high intensity nose offers orange, apricot, honey and hints of mineral aromas, all of which come through very nicely on the medium-bodied, balanced palate. It is semi-sweet, but balanced with clean acids. Excellent finish length. Tasted May/2016.
Burrowing Owl Pinot Noir 2017, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$39.95

Tawse Limestone Ridge North Estate Bottled Riesling 2016, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$26.15
Gorgeous aromatics are off the charts with lovely petrol, mineral, limestone and lime aromas. Very nice aroma replays on the medium-sweet flavour profile with fine acids providing lift. Nicely balanced and a long, crisp finish. Organic and biodynamic. Highly recommended buy. Tasted Apr/2019.
Grgich Hills Fumé Blanc Dry Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Napa Valley
California, Usa$47.95
Clean, elegant, oak influenced herb, lime peel, and grapefruit aromas and flavours, all in a reductive style. It has a rounded texture with nicely balanced acids. Herbally and guava flavours come to the fore on the mid-palate. Juicy, long finish. Tasted Apr/2018.
Karl Erbes ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese 2016, Qualitätswein
Mosel, Germany$21.75
Fine, highly aromatic nose of petrol, white peach, and orange citrus, supported by lively acids on the medium-sweet palate with orange, peach, and citrus flavours along with some mineral notes. Excellent length on the long, juicy finish. Should age gracefully for at least a decade. Tasted Sept/2019. Score: 90+ pts
Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2014, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$47.95
Blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Highly aromatic with lovely red cherry, cinnamon, and oak spice. The medium-full bodied palate offers nicely balanced aroma replays with savoury touches supported by bright acidity. It's a touch warm, but concentrated fruit holds it up well. Excellent finish length. Firm tannins need 3-4 years to settle down. Drink by 2030. Tasted Oct/2018.
Elderton Command Single Vineyard Shiraz 2015, Barossa
