Now matured to almost tawny colour, this Rioja remains nicely alive on the nose with currant/cherry fruit, lifted...
This impressive, maturing Reserva has a great deal of definition and is wildly compelling. The tannins are still...

Hard to believe it’s a ‘98, very little colour change and plenty of life left in it
This blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Mazuelo/Graciano has mature characters of red berry, earth, wet forest floor and wood spice aromas and flavours, with more sweet forest floor notes coming through on the medium bodied palate. Nicely balanced with very good acidity and refined tannins that have some grip. Long finish has more wet floor notes. Should develop further into the mid-20's. Tasted Sept/2019.

Such a vibrant and lively wine! Into secondary fruit flavours at this stage with nicely integrated oak. Classic and compelling.

The was my first wine that I had that was over 20 years old. I realized right away that all the almost all the primary fruit flavors are gone. I was getting hints of tobacco and leather. At this point I was happy. As the night progressed, the wine did not get any better. The wine was good at the beginning, I loved the secondary notes of leather, tobacco and oak. But as the night progressed, the already very light tannin's seemed to get even light taking the balance out of wack. I would suggest do not decant this and the faster you can drink this (share with friends) the better.

Beautiful dried cherry smell along with prune and oak. Taste of oak, balsamic, dried black fruits and herbs. Acidity is still there and the tannins have soften with a slight dry finish. Past prime which i would peg at two to three years ago
