Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Col D'orcia Brunello Di Montalcino 2015, Docg, Tuscany
Tuscany, Italy$55.95
Organic. Lovely, elegant, perfumed and very complex aromas of red cherry, sweet tobacco, earth, and leather with touches of rosemary, herb, dried rose floral, and balsamic wafting out of the glass. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with savoury, earthy, oak, clove, and red cherry flavours. Acids are succulent and juicy while firm tannins are grippy. Savoury, bitter chocolate, and earthy notes linger on the long, persistent, and grippy finish. While enjoyable now, this should improve further with about 3 years in the cellar and drink well into the early 2030s. Tasted Oct/2020.
Château Maucoil Privilège Châteauneuf Du Pape 2020, Ac Rhône
Rhône, France$62.95
The highly aromatic nose is deep & complex w/ aromas of ripe, dark red & black fruits, black cherry-raspberry, blackberry, stony mineral, garrigue, white pepper spice, kirsch & smoke. On the dry, medium-full to full-bodied palate it is ripe, harmonious, gently spicy & warming, but within balance, w/ lovely savoury, stony, black-blue fruits, peppery spice, garrigue & meaty flavours w/ touches of violet. Acids are crisp, juicy & succulent, while ripe tannins are smooth & refined w/ good structure. Stony, smoky, meaty & peppery spice notes linger on finish, w/ excellent length. Tasted Jan. 2024.
Jean Max Roger Cuvée Les Caillottes Sancerre 2021, A.C.
Loire, France$36.95
Elegant & beautifully intense, the aromatic nose offers lemon/lime citrus, stony minerality, grassy herbs, guava, tropical fruit & grapefruit aromas w/ hints of melon. It's medium-full bodied, impressively concentrated & well-structured on crunchy palate. Dry & complex w/ lightly honeyed flavours of lemon/lime, citrus, white floral, ripe apple, & pear, w/ touches of guava, tapering to stony mineral notes. Gently spicy on mid-palate. Nicely textured mouthfeel is supported by juicy, balanced acidity. Stony, leesy mineral notes linger on the exceptionally long, balanced finish. Tasted Sept. 2023.
La Fiorita Brunello Di Montalcino 2019, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$90.40
This Sangiovese has fresh and enticing, medium-high to highly aromatic nose featuring herbally, minerally, dark berry, savoury earth, and wood spice notes. On the dry, medium-full bodied, elegant, and crunchy palate it displays lovely aroma replays that echo on the flavour profile. It has fresh, well-balanced acidity alongside refined tannins. Long and balanced on the firmly structured finish. Will be even better after a few years in the cellar. Tasted Nov. 2023.
Patrick Lesec Galets Blonds Châteauneuf Du Pape 2017, Ac
Rhône, France$60.95
Rich, medium-high intensity aromas deliver ripe blackberry, raspberry, and smoky crushed rocks with touches of pepper spice. It's medium-full to full-bodied on the palate with lovely aroma replays joined by some dried herb and gentle oak spice flavours. Good fruit concentration holds up well to the slightly warming alcohol, lifted by mouthwatering acidity. Fine-grained, slightly chalky tannins are nicely textured. Stony mineral, wood spice, and blackberry notes linger on the long finish, with excellent length. Tasted Sept/2020.
Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello Di Montalcino 2019, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$77.95
The fresh, perfumed medium-high to highly aromatic nose offers captivating aromas of sweet wood spice, tangy red cherry, citrusy aromas. The dry, full-bodied palate is firmly structured with lovely aroma replays echoing on the palate. It has fresh acidity and big, firm tannins that need time to unwind. Tangy red cherry and citrus notes linger on the long, tight finish. I would tuck this away for 5+ years and enjoy to 2040. Tasted Nov. 2023.
Lanson Gold Label Vintage Brut Champagne 2012, A.C.

The elegant, medium-high to highly aromatic nose exudes elegance with brioche, toasty, mineral, leesy, and citrus aromas, all of which comes through nicely on the dry, textured palate with leesy, brioche, toasty, and honey flavours. The mousse is very fine and supported by very good, balanced acidity. Citrusy, white cherry, and brioche notes linger on the refined finish, with excellent length. Tasted Sept. 2023.
