Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Col D'orcia Brunello Di Montalcino 2014, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$53.95
This organic Brunello is made with 100% Sangiovese and offers an highly aromatic nose of sweet cinnamon and clove spices mingling with red cherry, rose floral, and dried cherry aromas. It's full-bodied with earthy and wood spice flavours followed by appealing aroma replays. A touch warming on the mid-palate, but still well-balanced with very good acidity and dusty, grippy tannins. Savoury and earthy notes linger on the long finish. Drink to 2030. Tasted Sept/2019.
Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Shiraz 2016, Clare Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$21.95
Complex plummy, blueberry, blackberry, mulberry, peppery, spice, and some meaty aromas and flavours. It is medium-full bodied with smooth, supple tannins and cool-climate freshness. Some earthy notes on the mid-palate and dry flavour profile. Excellent finish length. Tasted Apr/2019.

Medium-high intensity nose is complex with savoury, earthy, forest floor, sour cherry, oak spice, green pepper and herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with a lovely mouthfeel and refined tannins that are nicely integrated. Very nice aroma replays and balanced acidity. Excellent finish length. Tasted Nov/2018.

A dry Riesling with a medium-high intensity nose featuring aromas and flavours of pear, lime, and citrus. It is medium-bodied and fleshy with good acidity. Nicely textured with hints of minerality. Very good length on the lip smacking finish. Tasted Mar/2019.
Clos Bel Air 2016, Ac Montagne Saint émilion
Bordeaux, France$23.95
This 60/40 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc has a medium+ intensity nose that is fresh with red berry, cherry, and spice aromas, while the spicy medium-full bodied palate has raspberry, blackberry, tobacco, and forest floor flavours. It has vibrant acidity and supple tannins, becoming savoury on the mid-palate. Long finishing. Enjoy over the next 4-5 years. Tasted Mar/2019.

Barón De Ley Gran Reserva 2012, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$29.95
Medium-high intensity aromatics seem shy, offering dark berry, oak spice, savoury, and earthy aromas. It is full bodied with big, chewy tannins that are integrating well. It has very good, juicy acidity with more balanced dark berry and oak spice flavours. Nicely textured with a long, mouthwatering finish. Better in 2-3 years. Tasted Sept/2019.
Prieto Pariente La Provincia 2015, Vino De La Tierra De Castilla Y León
Castilla y León, Spain$20.75

This is bright and zippy with ripe lemony, citrus, floral, grapefruit, spice, herb, and smoke aromas and flavours. Well-balanced with high, scintillating acids that freshen the palate. Long, vibrant finish. Tasted Apr/2019.
