Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Trasqua Fanatico Riserva Chianti Classico 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot. Fragrant, mature aromas of dried berry, cherry, and flowers, with some earth, cedar, spice, and hints of orange rind adding complexity. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with dusty, chalky tannins with more savoury and earthy notes on the palate. Balanced acidity. Very good length on the juicy finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Jean Luc Colombo Le Pavillon Des Courtisanes Cairanne 2016, Ac
Rhône, France$17.75
An 80/20 blend of Grenache and Syrah, this has a medium+ intensity nose that is savoury with spicy, dark berry, raspberry, and floral characters with a touch of reduction. It's medium-full bodied with refined, textured tannins that are a touch chalky, which play nicely with the fresh, clean, and energetic acids. Very nice aroma replays that continue on the long, succulent finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Trapiche Terroir Series Finca Orellana Single Vineyard Malbec 2015, La Consulta, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$42.95
The medium-high intensity nose is fresh and elegant with dark berry, violet, orange peel, and blueberry aromas. The palate is full-bodied, dense, and packed with fresh acidity and very nice aroma replays. Fine tannins are polished. Pleasing dark berry core throughout, finishing with dark berry and oak spice notes, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019. Score: 91+ pts
Rymill Coonawarra Classic Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$29.95
Fresh, brambly nose of currant, dark berry, wild berry, and cassis, while the full-bodied palate offers clove spice, tobacco, dark currant, and cassis flavours. It has juicy acids, while medium-firm tannins are quite approachable right now. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Château De Nages Vieilles Vignes Blanc 2017, Ac Costières De Nîmes
Rhône, France$19.95
This blend of 45% Grenache Blanc, 25% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, and 10% Clairette has fresh, lime, grapefruit, melon, and stony mineral aromas and flavours. It's medium bodied and dry with very good, structured fruit. Nicely balanced with a spicy mid-palate and very good length on the finish. Tasted Sept/2019.
Bodegas Altanza Lealtanza Gran Reserva Rioja 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$31.95
This Tempranillo has a fairly intense and lifted nose of ripe/dried cherry, floral, and vanilla notes with savoury, wet forest floor undertones. It's medium-bodied with lovely, balanced aroma replays. It also has clean, lively acids and a tannic presence. The long finish is clean and well-balanced. Tasted Nov/2019.
La Crema Russian River Chardonnay 2017
California, Usa$39.95
Elegant, medium-high intensity nose of pear, apple and some mineral accents and touches of butter and tropical fruit. It's medium-full bodied and crunchy on the palate with balanced, juicy acids. Joining the aromas replays are some earthy and wood notes on the palate. Excellent finish length. Tasted Nov/2019.
