Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Tasted Oct/2018. Score: 90+ pts
Hidden Bench Locust Lane Rosé 2017, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$23.95
Interesting blend of 93% Pinot Noir and 7% Viognier. Fresh, medium-high intensity aromatics offer inviting strawberry, cherry, and spring flower notes. It's medium-bodied on the crunchy, dry palate with plenty of nice aroma replays. Lip smacking acidity is a touch tart and sour. Excellent finish length. Tasted Apr/2018.
Cave Spring Indian Summer Riesling 2016, Select Late Harvest, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Medium+ intensity nose features orange, spice and pink grapefruit aromas. It is medium sweet on the medium+ bodied palate with nice aroma replays, plus some melon and ripe pineapple notes. Shows nice balance with crisp acidity and very good finish length. Tasted Sept/2018.
Loimer Grüner Veltliner 2016, Dac Kamptal
Kamptal, Austria$23.15
Medium-high intensity nose features aromas of blood orange, citrus, grapefruit, and some mineral notes. The palate is ripe with grapefruit and lime flavours. Lively acids could use 6 months to settle down. Long, clean finish. Consistently a quality wine. Tasted May/2017.
Leaning Post Riesling Wismer Foxcroft Vineyard 2016, Twenty Mile Bench
Ontario, Canada$25.20
The medium-high intensity nose is clean and ripe, offering pear and green apple aromas, plus hints of lemon citrus and white floral. The bright, medium-full bodied and off-dry palate is spicy with crunchy fruit and more citrus and pear flavours. There's a nice mineral texture and the finish length is excellent. Tasted Aug/2019.
La Ferme Du Mont Première Côte Côtes Du Rhône 2016, Ap
Rhône, France$18.95
Medium+ intensity nose is ripe with dark cherry, dark berry, earth, brett, licorice, and raspberry aromas gain complexity with air, introducing kirsch liqueur and coffee aromas. It's medium+ bodied with ripe tannins, nice aroma replays plus some floral notes. Acid are very good and the finish length is good. Drinkable now, but will improve in a few years time. Tasted Nov/2017.
Villacreces Pruno 2016, Do Ribera Del Duero
Ribera Del Duero, Spain$22.95
Approximately 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Black plum and cedar oak aromas from the cork. In the glass, this has a medium+ intensity nose with smoky black licorice, black cherry, oak spice, and cassis with hints of earth and black plum aromas. It's medium-bodied on the palate with grippy, muscular tannins and fresh acids lifting the black cherry, blackberry, currant, and oak flavours. Drying mid-palate. Long finish with earthy and smoky elements, and just a touch of chocolate bitterness. Solid wine that needs 3+ years of cellar time. Tasted Aug/2018.
