Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Domain Mega Spileo Red 2011
World$29.95
Blend of 60% Mavrodafne and 40% Mavro Kalavritino. This has a medium-high intensity nose that would benefit with a short decant and offers complex notes of oak spice, black spices, red and black fruits, dark cherry and mineral. It's full-bodied with very nice aroma replays along with some savoury, herbally notes that evolve with each sip. Balanced acids are very good, while the tannins are smooth and refined. The smooth finish has excellent length. Tasted Apr/2018.
Rodney Strong Chalk Hill Chardonnay 2015, Sonoma County
California, Usa$26.95
The medium-high intensity nose is mineral-driven with pear, apple and vanilla notes. It has nice aroma replays plus hints of lemon on the fleshy, creamy, full bodied palate with crisp, lively acids adding freshness. The finish length is excellent. Tasted Apr/2018.
Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough
New Zealand$16.95
Screw cap. Bright nose is typically pungent for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with green aromas with lime zest, passion fruit, guava, and herbs. The medium bodied palate is crunchy and fresh with lip-smacking acidity and flavours of green herbs, lemon, guava, passion fruit, and asparagus. Touches of salty mineral on the mid-palate. Finishes long and juicy with some sourness and hints of mineral. Enjoy nicely chilled. Tasted May/2018.
Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2013, Chianti Classico
Tuscany, Italy$29.95
Blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Highly aromatic and complex with nice black cherry, red cherry, strawberry, tobacco, clove, and sweet oak spices, with all of it coming through nicely on the medium-bodied palate. Medium-level tannins are smooth, while acids are nicely balanced. The long finish offers hints of dark currant, sweet tobacco, earth, and underbrush. Tasted Oct/2017.
Tawse Riesling Sketches Of Niagara 2016, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.15
Screw cap. Wow. Highly aromatic and pretty aromas of peach and orange which give way to ripe apple, mineral and hints of petrol. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with very good fruit concentration and medium sweet flavours that are nicely balanced and mimic the aroma profile. High acids are crisp and provide a lip-smacking, long finish with just a touch of sourness. Tasted June/2018.
Castello Di Bossi C. Berardenga Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$22.95
Fragrant, perfumed nose of spice, red cherry, clove and incense aromas. It is medium-full bodied and quite savoury on the palate with red cherries, chocolate, spice and some stony mineral flavours. Acids are fresh and mouthwatering while textured tannins are a touch on the grippy side. Clean, savoury, stony mineral and red cherry notes linger on the long, succulent finish. Highly recommended wine to enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Oct/2019.
Mazzei Ser Lapo Riserva Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
90/10 Sangiovese and Merlot. The medium+ intensity nose has complex herbal, earthy, savoury, cherry, and strawberry aromas. It is medium bodied on the savoury palate with more earthy flavours surrounding the cherry/strawberry core. Tannins are grippy and drying while acids are juicy. Nicely balanced flavours come through long finish, with hints of dried cherry and red floral. Enjoy over the next 5+ years. Tasted Feb/2019.
