Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Tawse Riesling Sketches Of Niagara 2016, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.15
Screw cap. Wow. Highly aromatic and pretty aromas of peach and orange which give way to ripe apple, mineral and hints of petrol. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with very good fruit concentration and medium sweet flavours that are nicely balanced and mimic the aroma profile. High acids are crisp and provide a lip-smacking, long finish with just a touch of sourness. Tasted June/2018.
Castello Di Bossi C. Berardenga Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$22.95
Fragrant, perfumed nose of spice, red cherry, clove and incense aromas. It is medium-full bodied and quite savoury on the palate with red cherries, chocolate, spice and some stony mineral flavours. Acids are fresh and mouthwatering while textured tannins are a touch on the grippy side. Clean, savoury, stony mineral and red cherry notes linger on the long, succulent finish. Highly recommended wine to enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Oct/2019.
Mazzei Ser Lapo Riserva Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
90/10 Sangiovese and Merlot. The medium+ intensity nose has complex herbal, earthy, savoury, cherry, and strawberry aromas. It is medium bodied on the savoury palate with more earthy flavours surrounding the cherry/strawberry core. Tannins are grippy and drying while acids are juicy. Nicely balanced flavours come through long finish, with hints of dried cherry and red floral. Enjoy over the next 5+ years. Tasted Feb/2019.

Hidden Bench Locust Lane Rosé 2017, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$23.95
Interesting blend of 93% Pinot Noir and 7% Viognier. Fresh, medium-high intensity aromatics offer inviting strawberry, cherry, and spring flower notes. It's medium-bodied on the crunchy, dry palate with plenty of nice aroma replays. Lip smacking acidity is a touch tart and sour. Excellent finish length. Tasted Apr/2018.
Cave Spring Indian Summer Riesling 2016, Select Late Harvest, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Medium+ intensity nose features orange, spice and pink grapefruit aromas. It is medium sweet on the medium+ bodied palate with nice aroma replays, plus some melon and ripe pineapple notes. Shows nice balance with crisp acidity and very good finish length. Tasted Sept/2018.
Loimer Grüner Veltliner 2016, Dac Kamptal
Kamptal, Austria$23.15
Medium-high intensity nose features aromas of blood orange, citrus, grapefruit, and some mineral notes. The palate is ripe with grapefruit and lime flavours. Lively acids could use 6 months to settle down. Long, clean finish. Consistently a quality wine. Tasted May/2017.
