Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Wine Art Estate Idisma Drios Assyrtiko 2022, Pgi Drama
Macedonia, Greece$28.95
Richly fragrant, the medium-high to highly aromatic nose offers elegant & enticing aromas of buttery & vanillin oak layered over ripe lemon citrus, apple, orchard fruit, mineral & floral. On the dry, medium-full to full-bodied palate it is richly structured, creamy & complex w/ delicious vanilla, toasty oak spice, citrus, apple, orchard fruit & nut flavours. Touch spicy on mid-palate, while leesy mineral notes appear on back palate. Tangy & juicy acidity, while vanilla, citrus, orchard fruit & mineral notes with touches of spice linger on the very long finish. Tasted Sept. 2024. Score: 91+ pts
Dievole Chianti Classico Docg Petrignano 2020
Tuscany, Italy$28.95
This Sangiovese has a fresh, elegant, and lovely nose of medium-high intensity delivering focused and attractive aromas of red Bing cherry, dried rose floral, and sweet spices. On the medium to medium-full bodied palate it has very nice, elegant aroma replays with touches of spice adding further complexity. Fine tannins are well-structured and balanced with fresh acids. Herbal characters join the cherry and dried florals on the long, and very satisfying finish. Tasted May 2024.
Tenuta Rocca Barolo 2019, D.O.C.G. Piedmont
Piedmont, Italy$48.95
Clean, fragrant, and elegant, the medium-high to highly aromatic nose has pretty rose petal floral, dried red cherry, and sweet spice aromas, all of which echo on the palate. It's light-to-mid-weighted, but the chalky tannins are firm and well-structured. Fresh acidity lifts the palate, while lovely orange citrus and red cherry notes linger on the balanced finish, with excellent length. Tasted Sept. 2023. Score: 92+ pts
Planeta Plumbago Nero D'avola 2021, D.O.C. Sicilia
Sicily, Italy$24.95
Fresh, medium to medium-high intensity nose is spicy with dark berried currant, wild blackberry, cherry, and minerally aromas. It has grippy tannins on the dry, medium+ bodied palate with delicious savoury, minerally, and dark berry replays and is supported by very good acidity. Finish is long, earthy, and minerally. Quite youthful at this stage, I would put this away for a few years to let the tannins soften. Tasted Nov. 2024.
Torres Floralis Moscatel Oro, Spain (500ml)
Spain$16.95
Lots of lovely rose and floral aromas. Medium-full bodied with floral and hints of honey on the palate. Medium acidity levels and a long floral finish. Yum! Tasted Apr/2013.
Niagara College Dean`s List Chardonnay 2007, St. Davids Bench

2009 vintage. Very long nose with butter and apple aromatics joined by some tropical fruits. Begins very smooth with aromas replays on the palate, long finish is a bit spicy. Tasted Sept/2012.
Vineland Estates St. Urban Riesling 2008, VQA Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Pours a mature golden yellow colour. Mature nose of medium-high intensity with aromas of wax, honey, citrus, and peach. It's medium+ bodied and off-dry with honeyed, citrusy, and peach flavours. Acids are a bit low, but still well-balanced. Pleasant, chalky-textured mouthfeel. Waxy, citrus, and mineral oil notes linger on the long, lip-smacking finish. Tasted Sept. 2022.
Monmarthe Secret De Famille 1er Cru Brut Champagne, A.C.
Champagne, France$43.75
Blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay, this medium to medium+ intensity nose is elegant, yet seems a bit shy, with aromas of citrus, lemon, brioche, orange, and peach. The palate is clean and dry with fine mousse and lovely, balanced aroma replays on the flavour profile, joined by toasty notes. Acids are fresh, while the finish is long, clean, and crisp. Tasted May 2023. Score: 91+ pts
Ruinart Brut Champagne, Ac, Champagne
Champagne, France$89.95
A blend of 49% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 11% Pinot Meunier, this has a medium-high intensity, fragrant nose that has biscuity, brioche, autolytic, and bready notes with hints of lemon citrus very typical of Champagne. The palate is nice and crisp with lime acidity and flavours of lemon, citrus, and autolytic notes with a touch of honey that offers a kiss of sweetness. Long finishing with crisp citrus notes. Tasted Nov/2019.
Fielding Chosen Few Red 2007, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$74.95
Cabernet Sauvignon 45%, Merlot 41%, and Syrah 14%. Intense aromas of currant, black fruits and some oak. Medium-full bodied with savoury ripe fruits, currants and spice on the palate. Long finish. Approachable now, but will reward with further 2 years ageing. Tasted Sept/2012.
