Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Cave De Tain Héritiers Gambert Nobles Rives Crozes Hermitage 2018, Ac Crozes Hermitage
Rhône, France$28.44
Fresh, intense, and complex aromas of dark berry, blackberry, black cherry, smoke, black pepper spice, herbs, and meaty notes with a savoury, earthy core. It's medium-full bodied on the structured palate with very good concentration. Lovely black pepper, blackberry, dark cherry, and herbal flavours that turn savoury, meaty, smoky, and minerally on the mid-palate. It's supported by fresh, balanced acidity and fine-grained tannins that have a some structure and grip. Savoury, stony mineral, and coffee notes linger on finish. Tasted July/2021. Score: 91+ pts
San Felice Il Grigio Riserva Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$29.95
Medium-high intensity nose is savoury and earthy with a touch of barnyard followed by black plum, dark berry, and dark cherry aromas. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with clean, refined tannins and balanced acidity. Lovely, balanced aroma replays echo on the flavour profile. Savoury, minerally, and rustic on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Leaning Post The Fifty Chardonnay 2017, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$21.95
Reductive aromas of apple, pear, lime and a touch of vanilla. The medium-bodied palate is a touch hot, but offers nice aroma replays plus a nice flinty mineral character that also shows up texturally. Excellent finish length. Tasted June/2019.
Domaine Daniel étienne Defaix Côtes De Lechet Chablis 1er Cru 2003, Ac
Burgundy, France$53.95
Subtle aromatics are initially reductive with waxy hints, along with some vegetal notes, eventually giving way to minerality. The palate is medium+ bodied with nice texture and rounded acids that still provide freshness. Nice lemon/lime, earthy and limestone mineral flavours come through on the palate. Finish length is excellent. Tasted Apr/2017.
Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay 2018, Margaret River, Western Australia
Western Australia, Australia$18.75
Elegant, medium-high to high intensity nose is complex with stonefruit, apple, stone mineral, lime citrus, and herbally aromas with a slightly reductive character. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with very nice, balanced aroma replays. Bright acids are well-balanced. Excellent finish length. Tasted May/2019.
Flat Rock Cellars Riddled Sparkling 2010, VQA Twenty Mile Bench
Ontario, Canada$34.95
A blend of Chardonnay/Pinot Noir that spent 5.5 years on the lees. This is highly aromatic with bready, citrus, lemony aromas and flavours, joined by some yeasty notes on the medium+ bodied palate. There's fine mousse and some sweetness that's balanced by the bright acidity. Nice, lengthy finish. Tasted Mar/2017. Score: 90+ pts
