Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Cune Gran Reserva 2010, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$28.95
Blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo. Medium-high intensity aromas have moved into the mature savoury notes of umami, earth, cherry, and sweet spice notes. The palate is medium-full bodied with nicely pleasing aroma replays. Acids are very good and the finish length is excellent. Still many years left to enjoy. Tasted Sept/2016.
Domaine Queylus Tradition Chardonnay 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$27.95
Tasted Feb/2019.
Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$34.95
Medium+ intensity aromatics deliver currant, cassis, herbs, and oak spice characters on the nose and palate. It's full-bodied with smooth, dense, chewy tannins with some chalkiness. More herbally on the mid-palate with balanced acids. Very good length on the finish. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec. Tasted Oct/2019.
Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$24.95
Screw cap. The expressive nose opens with flinty mineral followed by guava, kiwi, tropical fruit, gooseberry and hints of lemon drops at the tail end. On the plump medium-bodied palate, this offers crisp, bright, and crunchy acids with ripe guava, white grapefruit, melon and tropical fruit flavours. Finishes long with fine minerality. A substantial Sauv Blanc that will be succulent with oysters. Tasted Mar/2018.
Burrowing Owl Pinot Noir 2017, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$39.95
Tasted Oct/2019.
Domaine Alary La Jean De Verde Cairanne 2015, Ac Côtes Du Rhône Villages
Rhône, France$24.25
100% Grenache. Medium+ nose offers red cherry, kirsch, liquorice, sweet oak spices and a touch brambly. The palate is medium-bodied with bright, fresh acids and fine tannins that have some grip. Very nicely balanced aroma replays on the flavour profile, joined by some blackberry notes. Excellent finish length. Tasted May/2018.
