Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Hidden Bench Fume Blanc Rosomel Vineyard 2017, Beamsville Bench

100% organic Sauvignon Blanc, 65% of which is barrel influenced. Highly aromatic nose has smoky, grassy and funky earth-mineral aromas. It is medium+ bodied on the creamy textured palate with lovely aroma replays. Wood influence is notable, but subtle. Clean, balanced acids. Nicely textured and excellent finish length. Tasted May/2019.

Clean, ripe, stone fruit, lemony, and herbal aromatics of generous intensity. It's full-bodied and concentrated with lovely aroma replays, plus some citrus, orange, and melon characters. It's nicely textured with fresh, bright acidity. Excellent finish length. Tasted Oct/2019.
The Lane Gathering Single Vineyard Sauvignon/Semillon 2016, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$20.75
This barrel influenced blend of 62% Sauvignon Blanc and 38% Semillon delivers intense, elegant aromatics lime, white flowers, lemon peel, bees wax, oatmeal, and spice notes with touches of melon. It's medium+ bodied on the crunchy palate with very nice, dry, wood influenced flavours of grapefruit, citrus, and tropical fruits with some mineral notes. Vilmart Et Cie Grande Réserve 1er Cru Champagne, Ac, France
Champagne, France$80.95
A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, this is a classy Champagne with a bright, lifted nose of biscuit, honey, and nutty aromas and flavours. It is medium-full bodied and dry with fine mousse and very good acidity. Excellent finish length with a focused, nutty and biscuity finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Jean Max Roger Cuvée C.M. Sancerre Blanc 2014, Ac
Loire, France$31.95
Inviting lemon flower, honey and citrus aromas from the cork. In the glass, this has highly aromatic and complex aromas of citrusy fruit - lemon/lime mingling with asparagus, herbal, nettle qualities, a tinge of honey, all surrounded by mineral elements. The palate is medium-bodied and fleshy with grapefruit, lemon citrus, herbal, and nettle flavours. Nicely balanced acids are juicy. Finishing long. Well-composed and elegant overall. Very enjoyable. Tasted Jan/2017. Score: 90+ pts
The Chocolate Block 2017, Wo Swartland
Swartland, South Africa$39.95
This blend of 64% Syrah, 14% Grenache, 11% Cinsault, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Viognier has a medium-high intensity nose that seems shy, offering black currant, black pepper, cocoa, and smoky oak spice aromas, with much of the same on the nicely balanced, medium-full bodied palate. Tannins are refined while acids are fresh. Some savoury notes throughout, while the finish length is excellent. Tasted Oct/2019.
