Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Jean Max Roger Cuvée Marnes Et Caillottes Sancerre 2018, Ac
Loire, France$31.95
Fresh, clean, open, and fragrant nose of stony mineral mingles with lime citrus, stone fruit, and a hint of grassy herb. It is firmly structured and fresh on the palate with very good depth of fruit and flavour intensity, offering stony mineral, citrus, and saline flavours. Tangy, mouth-watering acids are fresh and lively, while the stony-citrus finish has excellent length. Tasted Nov/2019.

Moulins De Citran 2009, Second Wine Of Château Citran, Ac Haut Médoc

58/42 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Lovely, highly aromatic nose is mature with savoury, dried cherry, rose florals, and wet forest floor aromas. it is medium+ bodied on the palate with nicely integrated tannins that still have some grip. Flavours of mineral, cedar, coffee, and spice, plus aroma replays with very good acidity. Long, smooth and savoury finish. Best over the next 2-3 years. Tasted Apr/2019. Score: 91+ pts
Il Molino Di Grace Riserva Chianti Classico 2014, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
Medium-high intensity nose has lovely complexity with savoury, earthy, forest floor, and oak spices accented with blackberry, black plum, vanilla, and chocolate. The palate is medium+ bodied with supple tannins and more savoury flavours. Acids are fresh, while finish length is very good. Better in 3-4 years. Tasted June/2018.
Jean Max Roger Cuvée Genèse 2015, Sancerre
Loire, France$30.95
Faint aromas of lime citrus and white flower from the cork. Seems a bit shy at the moment, but offers ripe yellow plum, white floral, citrus aromas with hints of herbally and stone fruit notes that are quite appealing. It is medium-full bodied with lively acids that cut through the slightly fleshy palate. It's rich with very nice aroma replays plus some grassy flavours with good intensity. There's also a nice mineral edge arriving mid-palate and continues through to the long finish. Lovely wine that should be served with only light chill. Tasted Mar/2017.
Clos Pegase Mitsuko's Vineyard Chardonnay 2014, Estate Grown, Carneros, Napa Valley
California, Usa$34.95
The highly aromatic nose offers smoky buttered popcorn, butter, and golden apple notes that continue on the palate with hints of caramel and butterscotch. Heavily wood-influenced. It's medium-full bodied with bright acids and excellent finish length. Tasted Oct/2017.
Hidden Bench Estate Riesling 2017, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Medium-high intensity aromatics are complex, offering lovely wet stone mineral, beeswax, white peach, citrus, and ripe apple notes. The crunchy palate is off-dry and noticeably sweet with orange and citrus notes, plus aroma replays. Acids are fresh and vibrant while the finish is long and juicy. Tasted Feb/2019.
Colomé Estate Malbec 2016, Calchaquí Valley, Salta
Calchaquí Valley, Argentina$24.95
Fresh, medium-high intensity has complex peppery spice, earth, dark berry, blackberry, dark plum, and hints of purple fruit aromas. It's medium-full bodied with fresh, vibrant acidity lifting the spicy aroma replays. Supple tannins are a touch tight at the moment. Excellent length on the long, balanced finish. Tasted Aug/2019.
