Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Château Les Ormes 2010, Ac Saint Julien
Bordeaux, France$69.95
This 60/40 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is showing beautifully with a highly aromatic, elegant, mature and savoury nose of earth, dried floral rose, dried cherry, tobacco, and spice. It is medium+ bodied, nicely balanced and textured on the rich palate with tannins that have integrated very nicely. Lovely, savoury aroma replays. Savoury and earthy with excellent length on the finish. Tasted May/2019.
Carmes De Rieussec Sauternes 2015, Second Wine, Ac Sauternes (375ml)
Bordeaux, France$25.95
Lovely, highly aromatic nose offers tropical fruit, and mango aromas in a honeyed profile, with nice replays on the medium+ bodied, lusciously sweet palate, and is nicely framed by balanced acidity. Excellent finish length. Tasted Oct/2019.
Château D'arsac 2015, Ac Margaux, Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$49.95
Blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot. The medium-high intensity nose has lovely dried cherry, red currant, cassis, savoury, and earthy characters with touches of dried rose floral and new wood. It is full-bodied on the palate with nice cherry, cassis, red berry, earthy, and wood spice flavours supported by juicy acidity and ripe, textured tannins that have a touch of grip. Long, savoury-earthy finish with touches of dried rose florals. Very approachable now and will continue to drink well over the next 7-8 years. Tasted Sept/2020.
Cloudy Bay Chardonnay 2016
Marlborough, New Zealand$39.95
Fairly intense nose delivers a smoky and reductive entry, followed by apple, pear, and vanilla aromas. It is medium+ bodied on the palate with vibrant acids, clean fruit and mouthfeel, and very nice aroma replays. Toasty and spicy notes linger on the long finish. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years. Tasted Oct/2019.
Antinori Badia A Passignano Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$49.95
Highly aromatic with rustic, forest floor, and dark red cherry notes. It is medium-bodied on the elegant palate with very smooth, fine tannins and lovely, spicy aroma replays. A touch warming, but otherwise well-balanced. Excellent length on the finish with plenty of finesse. Tasted Sept/2019.
Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay 2016, Napa Valley/Carneros
California, Usa$84.95
Ripe, fairly intense nose of apple, pear, orchard fruit, butterscotch, oak, and vanilla. It is medium-full bodied and structured with ripe aroma replays plus some spicy notes, all supported by vibrant acids. Long, juicy finish. Drink over the next 7-8 years. Tasted Oct/2019.
Luce 2016, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$129.95
A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, this Super Tuscan has a lovely, fairly intense and complex nose of oak spice, red cherry, currant, cassis, clove, and spices. It is full-bodied with more currant, cassis, spice, and oak flavours supported by mouthwatering acids. Firm tannins are structured and grippy. Excellent length on the long, slightly warming, yet balanced finish. Best after 2025. Tasted Oct/2019.
