Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.

This blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot has a medium-high intensity nose of red cherry, sun dried cherry, and floral aromas with nice savoury, earthy, oak spice undertones. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with gritty tannins and vibrant acids. Nicely balanced flavours mimic the nose, while the finish is long and well-balanced. Tasted Aug/2019.

Lovely, highly aromatic nose offers tropical fruit, and mango aromas in a honeyed profile, with nice replays on the medium+ bodied, lusciously sweet palate, and is nicely framed by balanced acidity. Excellent finish length. Tasted Oct/2019.

Fairly intense nose delivers a smoky and reductive entry, followed by apple, pear, and vanilla aromas. It is medium+ bodied on the palate with vibrant acids, clean fruit and mouthfeel, and very nice aroma replays. Toasty and spicy notes linger on the long finish. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years. Fascinating to see a single clone Cab Franc from Niagara, this has a medium+ intensity nose of ripe cassis, currant, blackberry, dark cherry and tobacco aromas, while the medium+ bodied palate is a bit chewy with fine, structured tannins. Bright vibrant acids lift the palate that has very nice aroma replays with some earthy tones on the mid-palate, and finishing long with tobacco notes. Nicely balanced overall, this will drink nicely over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Jan/2018.

Earthy, umami, forest floor, and savoury with hints of cherry and clove aromas with high intensity. On the medium-full bodied palate, this has chalky tannins and nice savoury aroma replays plus some dark berry and blackberry flavours. Acids are very good. Rustic, savoury and earthy on the long finish. Tasted Sept/2017.

A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, this Super Tuscan has a lovely, fairly intense and complex nose of oak spice, red cherry, currant, cassis, clove, and spices. It is full-bodied with more currant, cassis, spice, and oak flavours supported by mouthwatering acids. Firm tannins are structured and grippy. Excellent length on the long, slightly warming, yet balanced finish. Best after 2025. Tasted Oct/2019.

Cvne Imperial Reserva 2014, Doca Rioja

Blend of 85% Tempranillo and equal parts Graciano, Mazuelo (Carignan), and Grenache spent 18 months in (60%) French and (40%) American oak. Lovely, fairly intense nose offers very complex dark berry, black cherry, blackberry, and black plum aromas, with subtle oak, cinnamon, and spice complementing the dark fruits. The medium-full bodied palate is slightly warm, but the very good fruit concentration holds it all together. Very nice aroma replays are well-balanced on the juicy palate. Nicely balanced overall with smooth tannins and a very long, complex finish. Tasted May/2019.
