Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Penley Estate Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Medium-high intensity aromas of cassis, black and red berries, and a shading of oak. It is full-bodied with lovely aroma replays plus herbally hints on the palate. With juicy acids, structured tannins, and a very good finish length, this can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. Tasted June/2019.
Best's Great Western Riesling 2017, Great Western, Victoria
Victoria, Australia$19.95
Lovely, ripe, fragrant nose of lemon/lime, stony mineral, apple, orange citrus, and hints of petrol and peach. All of the complex aromas shine through on the palate in an off-dry flavour profile that is balanced by the bright and lively acids. Veers towards dry on the long finish. Tasted June/2019.
Cape Barren Native Goose Shiraz 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia

Medium-high nose is on the savoury, meaty side with some black cherry, violet, cassis, and sweet spice notes adding complexity. It is medium-full bodied with supple, nicely structured tannins. Nice aroma replays on the flavour profile, and slightly tangy on the mid-palate. Balanced acids. Long finish is savoury and meaty. Tasted June/2019.
Rymill Coonawarra Mc2 2015, Coonawarra, South Australia

Domaine De L'idylle Jacquère Savoie 2017, Ac
Savoie, France$12.75
Fresh, medium+ intensity aromas of lemon/lime and citrus. Aromas come through nicely on the crunchy palate, along with touches of baked apple. It has crisp acids, while the finish is long, clean and crisp. Tasted June/2019.
Enrico Serafino Barbaresco 2015, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$29.95
This Nebbiolo has a medium-high intensity nose of dried floral, cherry, dried nutmeg, plum, and spice aromas. It is full-bodied on the palate with firm, chalky tannins. Lovely aroma replays join the spice and tobacco flavours. Excellent finish length. Needs time - will be better in 3-4 years. Tasted June/2019.
Henry Of Pelham Riesling Icewine 2017, Short Hills Bench (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$49.95
The highly aromatic nose is intense with lovely ripe peach, honey, and lemon citrus aromas with a hint of melon. The full-bodied, viscous palate has very good fruit concentration with lusciously sweet aroma replays that are balanced with bracing, juicy acidity. The finish length is excellent. Tasted Jan/2020. Score: 91+ pts
Kacaba Premium Series Reserve Riesling 2017, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$17.95
Screw cap. Lovely, fragrant, medium-high intensity nose of petrol, lemon oil citrus, waxy, white peach, and orchard fruit complexity. It's miedium+ bodied, off-dry and with delicious petrol, lemon/lime citrus, white peach, and green apple flavours with a kiss of sweetness surrounding a core of savoury, stony mineral. It has very good, lively and juicy acidity, along with a nicely chalky textured mid-palate. Leesy, limestone mineral notes linger on the long, dry-ish, crisp, and well-structured finish. Tasted May 2024. Score: 90+ pts
