Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Fresh, medium-high to high intensity nose of dark berry, blackberry, raspberry, and some sweet oak aromas. It is medium-full bodied with smooth, structured tannins and flavours of floral, cherry, and savoury notes. Very good acidity is nicely balanced. Long finish has currant and cassis notes. Will age gracefully for at least 5-6 years. Tasted June/2019.

Domaine Giraud Châteauneuf Du Pape Tradition (Bio) 2015
Rhône, France$59.95
Blend of 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre. Complex nose has savoury, earthy, mineral, incense, wet forest floor and some floral rose aromas. It is full-bodied and rich with smooth, silky tannins and spicy, raspberry, cherry liqueur, and lovely aromas replays. Nicely balanced with juicy acids. Very long on the finish. Tasted June/2019.
Xavier Vignon Ventoux 2017, Ap
Rhône, France$17.95
Blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Mourvèdre. The Grenache was aged in tank, while the other varietals were aged in barrel. Generous aromas offer spicy red and blackberry fruit with hints of pepper and smoky-flinty minerality. It is medium-full bodied with nicely balanced and spicy aroma replays that are supported by vibrant acidity. More minerally on the mid-palate plus touches of purple fruit. Tannins are soft, supple, and finely textured. Dark berry and mineral notes linger on the long finish. I really like the mineral aspect of this Ventoux red wine. Tasted July/2019.
Terre Stregate Svelato Falanghina Del Sannio 2016, Dop
Campania, Italy$18.95
After some aeration, this revealed some enticing herbal, stonefruit, and floral aromas. The medium-bodied palate is crisp and clean with balanced acidity. Pretty aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus a fine mineral streak on the mid-palate. Long, crisp finish. Tasted July/2019.
Janare Fiano 2017, Dop Sannio
Campania, Italy$16.95
Fresh and highly aromatic with floral, mandarin orange, mineral, and citrus notes, all of which come through on the medium+ bodied palate that has a nice creamy mouthfeel. Acids are well-balanced, while the finish is long, vibrant, and minerally. Tasted July/2019.
Bellingham Homestead Shiraz 2017, Wo Paarl
Paarl, South Africa$18.95
Ripe, medium-high intensity nose of dark berry, dark cherry, meaty, spice, and hints of smoke aromas. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with nicely balanced aroma replays. Ripe tannins are smooth. Hints of white pepper on the long, spicy finish that is a touch warm. Tasted July/2019.
