Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Fresh, medium-high intensity nose of dark stony mineral, black pepper spice, dark cherry, and hints of purple fruit, all which comes through nicely on the medium-full bodied palate. Well-balanced throughout with very good acidity and fairly smooth tannins. Finish is long and juicy. Tasted Aug/2019.
Alamos Selección Malbec 2016, La Consulta, Uco Valley, Argentina
Mendoza, Argentina$16.95
The medium+ intensity nose delivers ripe blackberry, earthy, and chocolate aromas with a touch of herb. It is medium-full with good fruit concentration and flavours of blackberry, smoky mineral, and savoury notes on the spicy palate accented by herbal and subtle oak influence. It has lively acidity and supple tannins that are well-integrated, along with some purple fruit notes on the mid-palate. The long finish has more blackberry and smoky mineral notes with a touch of white pepper spice. Tasted Nov/2020.
Carmim Terra Lenta Premium Reguengos 2016, Doc Alentejo
Alentejo, Portugal$13.95
A blend of 45% Trincadeira, 35% Aragonez, and 20% Alicante Bouchet, this offers a medium+ intensity nose that is fresh and fruity with blue and berry, garrigue, and spice characters that also appear on the full-bodied palate. Well-balanced with chalky tannins that offer a nice textural element. It has balanced acids and a long, structured and chalky finish. Tasted Aug/2019.
Mountadam Eden Valley Chardonnay 2017, Eden Valley, South Australia

Lovely, fairly intense nose is fresh with earthy mineral notes layered on top of orchard fruit, pear, and white peach aromas. The medium-full bodied palate has very good, structured fruit balanced with lively acidity and lovely aroma replays plus some grapefruit and subtle oak nuances adding complexity. Long, chalky-textured finish. Tasted Aug/2019.
Closerie Des Alisiers Bourgogne Aligoté 2017, Ac
Burgundy, France$18.95
The medium+ intensity nose offers enticing aromas of apple and lime citrus mingling with flinty minerality. It is medium+ bodied, a touch creamy, and quite fleshy with good fruit concentration on the palate. Nicely balanced with more flavours of apple and lime citrus with a distinct oyster shell note. It has crisp and fresh acidity, while the finish is long and minerally. Recommended buy. Tasted Aug/2019.
Wakefield Jaraman Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Coonawarra & Clare Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$24.95
Screw cap. The medium-high intensity nose offers menthol, currant, and cassis with hints of leafy, dried herb aromas. It's full-bodied with minty cassis, ripe blackberry, and currant flavours accented with oak spice and just a touch of jamminess. It's well-balanced with fresh acidity while tannins have softened since last year, having a touch of chalky grip. Savoury chocolatey oak with currant and herbal notes linger on the long finish. Tasted Sept/2020.
