Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Casablanca Nimbus Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2017, Casablanca Valley
Casablanca Valley, Chile$18.75
Good fruit with pear and green apple aromas and flavours on a medium-full bodied palate. Slightly reductive in style with an earthy and mineral mid-palate. Bracing acids. Long, toasty finish. Better in 1-2 years. Tasted May/2019.
Miguel Torres Cordillera De Los Andes Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Maipo Valley
Maipo Valley, Chile$22.95
Ripe, medium-high intensity nose of cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, evergreen, and wood spice, while the full-bodied palate is much of the same, albeit more herbally. It has bold, structured tannins and very good acidity. Currant and cassis notes linger on the long finish. Tasted May/2019.
Spy Valley Pinot Noir 2015, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$18.75
As it warms in the glass, this offers an appealing, medium+ intensity nose of red cherry, black cherry, tea leaf, floral, and subtle oak spice. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with chunky, mouthfilling tannins that have a slightly dusty texture to go along with juicy, balanced acids. Nice black cherry, beetroot, and tea leaf flavours. Hints of mocha on the finish, with very good length. Tasted June/2019.
Penley Estate Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Medium-high intensity aromas of cassis, black and red berries, and a shading of oak. It is full-bodied with lovely aroma replays plus herbally hints on the palate. With juicy acids, structured tannins, and a very good finish length, this can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. Tasted June/2019.
Best's Great Western Riesling 2017, Great Western, Victoria
Victoria, Australia$19.95
Lovely, ripe, fragrant nose of lemon/lime, stony mineral, apple, orange citrus, and hints of petrol and peach. All of the complex aromas shine through on the palate in an off-dry flavour profile that is balanced by the bright and lively acids. Veers towards dry on the long finish. Tasted June/2019.
Cape Barren Native Goose Shiraz 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$22.95
Medium-high nose is on the savoury, meaty side with some black cherry, violet, cassis, and sweet spice notes adding complexity. It is medium-full bodied with supple, nicely structured tannins. Nice aroma replays on the flavour profile, and slightly tangy on the mid-palate. Balanced acids. Long finish is savoury and meaty. Tasted June/2019.
Rymill Coonawarra Mc2 2015, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$14.25
Tasted June/2019.
Domaine De L'idylle Jacquère Savoie 2017, Ac
Savoie, France$12.75
Fresh, medium+ intensity aromas of lemon/lime and citrus. Aromas come through nicely on the crunchy palate, along with touches of baked apple. It has crisp acids, while the finish is long, clean and crisp. Tasted June/2019.
