Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.

Southbrook Triomphe Chardonnay 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Stelvin screw cap. Subtle nose of apple, pear and cereal, with hints of vanilla and oak. The medium-full bodied palate offers much more, with very interesting mealy flavours combined with nuts, honey, lemon, and vanilla layered on top of ripe white and yellow fruit. Oak is firmly in the background. Nicely textured with bright acids lifting the palate. Mealy, nutty, and citrus notes linger on the long finish. Not your typical Chardonnay, but indeed a fine expression. Tasted Nov/2018.

Château De Treviac 2015, Ap Corbières

60% Syrah and 40% Grenache aged in tank. Faint notes of cherry from the cork. Medium-high intensity nose of cassis, licorice, and black pepper with savoury meaty notes throughout. With air, the nose reveals red currant and garrigue aromas. On the medium bodied palate, there are very nice aroma replays - cassis, garrigue, licorice and black pepper on a bed of fine, chalky textured, and slightly grippy tannins. Acids are bright and juicy. The finish length is very good with lingering earth and garrigue notes. Nicely balanced overall. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Jan/2018.

Alta Vista Terroir Selection Malbec 2014, Mendoza

The medium-high intensity nose is elegant with fine floral rose, clove and oak aromas. It's full-bodied on the palate with smooth, refined tannins and very nice aroma replays. Elegantly structured supported by mouthwatering acids. Fruit holds up well on the long, warming finish. Tasted Sept/2017.

Tohu Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Screw cap. The pungent, aromatic nose offers passionfruit, grapefruit, gooseberry, and guava with hints of minerality. It's very ripe with sweet and sour flavours on the palate with appealing aroma replays. Racy acids provide freshness. Juicy mid-palate. Fine length on the crisp, mouth-watering finish. Inclined to let this sit for another 6 to 12 months to let the acids settle down and enjoy to 2020. Tasted Mar/2018.

Château Haut Lalande 2015, Ac Côtes De Bordeaux Blaye

This blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Malbec has earthy and forest floor aromas that lay atop of ripe red fruits. The medium+ bodied palate has nice aroma replays with plenty of savoury and oak spice characters. It has lively acids while tannins are well-integrated. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Aug/2019.

The medium-high intensity nose offers clean, white peach, orange citrus, minerality and a whiff of petrol, while the off-dry and fleshy palate has nice mineral-driven aroma replays, plus some Flintstone vitamin notes. Acids are good, while the long finish is a touch bitter. Tasted Sept/2017.

Highly aromatic with smoky-flinty notes followed by buttered popcorn, pear, and baked apple notes. The medium-full bodied palate is ripe and elegant with stone fruits, pear and gentle oak spice with just a touch of sweetness. Acids are very good, while finishing long. Tasted May/2018.

Complex, medium-high intensity aromatics with smoky, earthy, and mineral, joined by black cherry, violet, dark plum, garrigue, and spice notes. It's medium-full bodied on the slightly warming palate with smooth, refined tannins that have a supple texture. Savoury flavours of scorched earth, mineral, black cherry, black plum, violet, garrigue, and peppery spice are supported by juicy acidity. Long and savoury with scorched earth and mineral notes lingering on the finish. Tasted Feb/2021.

100% Sangiovese from vines planted 500 metres above sea-level, this has medium-high intensity aromas of sweet oak spice, floral, and dark berries. It is full-bodied and richly structured with smooth tannins and lovely aroma replays. Acids are mouth-watering and the finish length is excellent. Has the stuffing to age 10 years. Tasted Oct/2017. Score: 90+ pts
