Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Mazzei Ser Lapo Chianti Classico Riserva 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
Medium-high intensity nose featuring sweet herb, cherry, and oak spice, all of which come through nicely on the balanced, medium-bodied palate. Supple tannins and very good acidity are in balance, while the finish is long and juicy. Tasted May/2016.
Henri De Villamont Montagny 1er Cru 2014, Ac
Burgundy, France$33.75
Medium-high intensity aromas that are elegant, with very nice nutty, butter, golden apple and pear on the nose. It's light-to-medium weighted with bright, crisp acids and nice stone fruit aroma replays. Nicely balanced overall, with a finish length that is very long with hints of minerality. Tasted May/2017.
Fritz Willi Riesling 2015, Mosel
Mosel, Germany$18.25
The medium-intensity nose is ripe and offers honeyed tropical fruit, guava, white peach and whiffs of herbally notes. The medium-bodied palate is bright and refreshing with scintillating acids, good fruit concentration and off-dry (i.e. quite sweet) aroma replays. Nice and clean with an herbally-tinged, long finish. Tasted Nov/2017.
La Ferme Du Mont Première Côte Côtes Du Rhône 2015, Ap
Rhône, France$18.95
A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, this has a medium+ intensity nose of dark berry, dark plum, oak, blackberry and herbal aromas that follow through on the flavour profile. The palate is medium+ bodied and more savoury with supple and ripe tannins that provide some grip. It has a crunchy texture. Still young and a bit tight. Acids are juicy and the finish length is very good. Should evolve nicely over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Nov/2017. Score: 88+ pts
Tetramythos Roditis 2016, Pdo Patras, Peloponnese
Peloponnese, Greece$12.25
The nice medium-high intensity nose offers floral, grapefruit, and lemon citrus aromas. Pleasing aroma replays with gentle acids on the palate. Hints of flinty minerality and just a touch bitter on the long finish. Tasted May/2017.
Mazzei Ser Lapo Riserva Chianti Classico 2014, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. The medium+ intensity nose is elegant with sour cherry, red currant, and oak spice aromas, along with touches of raspberry and mocha chocolate notes. On the medium-full bodied palate, it has supple tannins with a slightly chalky texture, offering a nice mouthfeel overall. Pleasing aroma replays on the flavour profile. It has balanced acidity and is a touch warm on the long finish. Tasted June/2018.
Southbrook Triomphe Chardonnay 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Stelvin screw cap. Subtle nose of apple, pear and cereal, with hints of vanilla and oak. The medium-full bodied palate offers much more, with very interesting mealy flavours combined with nuts, honey, lemon, and vanilla layered on top of ripe white and yellow fruit. Oak is firmly in the background. Nicely textured with bright acids lifting the palate. Mealy, nutty, and citrus notes linger on the long finish. Not your typical Chardonnay, but indeed a fine expression. Tasted Nov/2018.
Château De Treviac 2015, Ap Corbières
Languedoc, France$17.95
60% Syrah and 40% Grenache aged in tank. Faint notes of cherry from the cork. Medium-high intensity nose of cassis, licorice, and black pepper with savoury meaty notes throughout. With air, the nose reveals red currant and garrigue aromas. On the medium bodied palate, there are very nice aroma replays - cassis, garrigue, licorice and black pepper on a bed of fine, chalky textured, and slightly grippy tannins. Acids are bright and juicy. The finish length is very good with lingering earth and garrigue notes. Nicely balanced overall. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Jan/2018.
Alta Vista Terroir Selection Malbec 2014, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$22.75
The medium-high intensity nose is elegant with fine floral rose, clove and oak aromas. It's full-bodied on the palate with smooth, refined tannins and very nice aroma replays. Elegantly structured supported by mouthwatering acids. Fruit holds up well on the long, warming finish. Tasted Sept/2017.
