Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.

The medium-high to highly aromatic nose is smoky with oak and vanilla infused aromas surrounding a core of orchard fruit, apple, citrus, peach. It's well-structured on the dry, impressively weighted, medium-full bodied palate, with crisp, juicy acidity. Spice notes join the aroma replays on the flavour profile, tapering to spiced vanilla notes on the long finish. Tasted Oct. 2025. Score: 91+ pts

100% Sangiovese. The medium+ intensity nose seems a bit shy, yet offers attractively classic Bing red cherry, sweet spice, and clove aromas layered over savoury wet earth. The medium+ to medium-full bodied palate is dry with very nice, well-balanced aromas replay, and supported by balanced acidity and medium tannins. A bit youthful, but still well-balanced throughout with earthy notes lingering on the long, satisfying finish. Tasted Oct. 2024. Score: 91+ pts

Château Des Charmes Old Vines Riesling 2014, Niagara On The Lake

Medium-high aromatics have a nice mineral, petrol and peach nose. The palate is off-dry with very appealing orange, citrus and some melon flavours, along with touches of minerailty and petrol. Acids are juicy and nicely balanced. The long finish moves towards the dry spectrum. All in all, a very good wine. Recommended. Tasted Mar/2017.

Losi Querciavalle Chianti Classico 2011

Medium+ intensity nose has nice savoury, mineral, earthy and oak spice aromas. On the palate, it's medium+ bodied with nicely balanced dried herbs, earth, and cherry flavours. It has well-integrated, supple tannins, very good acidity and a long, nicely focused finish. Tasted May/2016.

Alpha Estate Syrah Single Vineyard Turtles 2011, Pgi Florina
Greece$21.95
Purple fruit and dark plum aromas from the cork. Pretty colour. Lovely balance between fruit and savoury aromas with a mineral component - blackberry, meaty, with hints of floral and black pepper. The palate is medium-full bodied with fine-grained tannins and dark fruit flavours of blackberry, black cherry, with black pepper nuances mid-palate. Acids are fresh and juicy. Well-balanced. Long, dark berry, earthy, woody finish. Drinking well now, but should be even better in a year's time. Tasted Aug/2016.

La Cadierenne Cuvée Grande Tradition Bandol Rosé 2015, Ac

Made with 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache and 30% Cinsault, from vines that are 20 years old on clay-limestone and marl soils. Ripe peach and spring meadow aromas from the cork. Pretty pale pink colour. Medium+ intensity nose of peach, citrus, floral and hints of Provençal herb. Full-ish on the palate with more citrus, peach, floral and herbally flavours. Nicely balanced with fresh, juicy acids. Made in the traditional dry (i.e. not sweet) style. Clean orange citrus notes on the long, crisp finish. Tasted July/2016.

This Cabernet Sauvignon based blend has medium-high intensity aromas that are smoky with red & black fruits, cassis, and green pepper that continue on the medium-full bodied palate along with sweet oak spice notes. Good acids. Long, balanced finish. Tasted Oct/2015.

Thörle Feinherb Riesling 2015, Qualitätswein Rheinhessen

Naturally fermented and having 17 g/l residual sugar, this has a medium-high intensity nose that's nice and clean with citrus, lime, orange and mineral notes. It's medium-bodied with a chalky texture and nice medium sweet aroma replays. It has squeaky clean acids and very good length on the finish. Tasted May/2016.
