Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Lifted aromas showing green herbs, wild blueberry, and toasty cedar oak. Palate is medium+ bodied with somewhat complex flavours of green herbs, cedar-smoke and currant. Long finish has hints of chocolate. Acids are finely balanced, while tannins are moderately firm, yet finely-grained, making this wine drinkable now or up to 2018. Tasted Jan/2015.

This Pinot Gris has complex medium intensity aromas of herbaceous, stone fruit, fennel and lime. Floral, herbal and hints of fruits on the medium-bodied palate. Just off-dry (slight sweet) with fine, beady acids. Long, crisp and minerally finish. Well done! Tasted July/2015.
Burrowing Owl Athene 2011, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$44.95
Blend consisting of 55% Syrah and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium+ intensity aromas with black pepper, black fruit, floral, currant and oak notes. It's medium-to-full bodied and elegantly styled with pleasing aroma replays and some purple fruit notes mid-palate. Has very good, balanced acids. Tannins could use 1-2 years to soften, but enjoyable now. Finish is long and smooth. Tasted Mar/2015. Score: 89+ pts
Handsome Brut, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$11.55
100% Chardonnay made in the méthode traditionelle style. Cleam lime and citrus nose of medium intensity with leesy, toasty notes on the back end. Mouth-filling with lime, buttered bread, mineral, lees, and a slight hint of sweetness on the palate. Fine mousse, balanced acids, medium-length citrus-tinged finish. Handsome wine that will pair well with Dungeness Crab Curry! Tasted Oct/2014. Score: 88+ pts
