Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Trinity Hill The Trinity Red Blend 2014, Hawkes Bay, North Island
Hawke's Bay, New Zealand$17.25
55% Merlot, 17% Tempranillo, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec and 7% Syrah. Screw cap. The generous nose is complex, offering cassis, black & blueberry, black plum, leather, sweet oak spice and cocoa aromas. It's medium-bodied with a lush mouthfeel and ripe black plum, blackberry, earthy, leather, and cocoa flavours. Nice black pepper notes arrive with time in the glass. Ripe, dusty tannins are refined and offer nice texture, while offering some grip towards the mid- and back-palate. Earthy, forest floor notes linger on the very long finish. Best over next 3-4 years. Tasted May/2018.
Cuddy By Tawse Sparkling, Traditional Method, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$25.95
Tasted Oct/2019.
Villa Maria Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$21.95
The fragrant nose is classically ripe with aromas of asparagus, kiwi, tropical fruit, grassy and slightly tart notes. It's medium-bodied on the palate with nice replays and balanced acidity. A touch salty on the mid-palate and continues on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Sept/2018.
Château De Nages Vieilles Vignes Rosé 2017, Ap Costières De Nîmes
Rhône, France$19.95
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the nose is subtle but offers rich cherry and strawberry aromas, while the medium-full bodied palate has nice aroma replays supported by balanced, juicy acids. There's some structure to this dry rosé that has a nice, rich texture. Finish length is very good. A serious, gastronomie rosé. Tasted May/2018.
Janare Senete Falanghina Del Sannio 2016
Campania, Italy$19.95
The medium-high intensity nose has mineral, grapefruit, floral and citrus aromas in a high-toned and ripe profile. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with good fruit concentration, nice aroma replays, and very good acidity. Nicely balanced over all with a long, clean finish. Tasted Oct/2017.
Cave Spring Estate Chardonnay 2016, Cave Spring Vineyard, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Half fermented in tank, half in oak (20% new), this offers a medium-high intensity nose that is clean with ripe apple, stone fruit, and citrus with some nutty hints. It's fairly light-to-medium bodied with more mineral and nutty flavours, plus peach pit and grapefruit. Acids are fresh and very good finish length. Tasted Sept/2018.
Queenston Mile Vineyard Mile Red 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$25.00
Tasted Apr/2019.
Palatine Hills Riesling 2016, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
Screw cap. This bottle seems a bit shy, offering glimpses of pear, apple, mineral and petrol aromas. Much more lively on the medium-bodied palate with clean, bracing acids and medium sweet flavours of citrus, waxy, and minerals with just a hint pf petrol. Juicy, clean mid-palate and nicely textured. Complex. Very good length on the mineral and candied citrus finish. Should drink well over the next 5-7 years. Tasted Dec/2018.
