Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Hidden Bench Pinot Noir 2012, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Classic Pinot aromas and flavours. Elegant nose of sour cherry, strawberry and beetroot of medium-high intensity with balanced aroma replays on the palate, along with hints of mushroom and subtle oak spice. Medium+ level of tannins are not overbearing and show good balance with the very good acids. Well-balanced red wine with excellent length on the finish. Drink now or over the next 5 years. Tasted Nov/2014.
Domaine Galaman Fitou 2013, Ap
Languedoc, France$14.95
Ripe black plum, blackberry and dark cherry aromas from the cork. This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah has earthy mineral aromas that give way to blackberry and currant, with herbal and gentle baking spice accents. Quite dense on the full bodied palate with currant, herbally, dark berry, and boysenberry flavours. Acids are mouth-watering and the fine tannins are a touch drying. Finish length is very good. Approachable now, but should improve in 1-2 years and enjoy over the next half dozen years. Tasted Oct/2016.
Stoneleigh Latitude Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$21.95
Highly aromatic gooseberry, catpee, grass, grapefruit, and wet hay aromas which replay nicely on the balanced palate. Fresh, vibrant acids. Very long finish with some mineral, flinty notes on the finish. Tasted May/2015. Score: 90+ pts

The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing aroma replays and some herbally notes. Mouth-watering acids. It's smooth with silky tannins and excellent length on the finish. Will reward with 2-3 years in cellar. Tasted March/2015.
Mission Hill Reserve Shiraz 2012, BC VQA Okanagan Valley

Medium+ intensity nose of cassis, green pepper, red licorice, black cherry, and currant which carry over very nicely on the full bodied palate. Tannins are ripe, with very good acidity and finishing very long. Well-balanced overall. Tasted July/2015.
Rockway Vineyards Riesling 2014, Small Lot, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Screw cap. The lovely, highly aromatic nose delivers aromas of petrol, white floral, wet stone, and apple with touches of lime citrus. It is medium+ bodied on the palate with tart lime citrus, apple, and floral flavours in an off-dry profile. It has a slightly viscous mouthfeel with juicy, balanced acidity. Maturing waxy and petrol notes are followed by lime citrus and touches of stony mineral on the long lasting, slightly chalky and dry finish. Tasted Jan/2021.
Gaia Agiorgitiko Nemea 2013
Peloponnese, Greece$19.75
Synthetic Nomacorc cork. Perfumed nose of cherries, red currant, and raspberry with underlying cedar oak and vanilla aromas. On the mid-weighted palate, it has much of the same aromas, with fine, dusty tannins, good structure and fresh acidity. Slight warmth on the mid-palate. Bitter, lengthy finish that has hints of oak. Enjoyable now or cellar up to 3 years. Tasted Apr/2015.
