Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Closerie Des Alisiers Petit Chablis 2016, Ac
Burgundy, France$25.95
Fermented and aged completely in tank, this unoaked Chardonnay has a fresh and fragrant nose with lemon and citrus with hints of white peach and leesy notes. It is light-to-medium bodied on the palate with more lemon, citrus, ripe apple, and white peach flavours with a fine mineral underpinning. Some grapefruit and floral notes arrive with air, adding complexity. Nicely balanced with clean, crisp, and bright acids providing freshness. Fine mineral and apple notes linger on the long aftertaste. Tasted Nov/2018.
M. Chapoutier Les Vignes De Bila Haut Côtes Du Roussillon Villages 2017, Ac
Midi, France$12.95
A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, this has a medium-high intensity nose of ripe dark and red berry, cherry, iron mineral, and plum aromas. It's medium-full bodied with supple, textured tannins that have some grip. Nice, juicy aroma replays with good length on the finish that ends with some dark berry and mineral notes. Tasted July/2019.
Featherstone Joy Premium Cuvée Sparkling 2013, Traditional Method, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Tasted Nov/2019.
Trapiche Gran Medalla Malbec 2014
Mendoza, Argentina$25.95
Medium+ intensity nose is clean and ripe fruited with blackberry and purple fruit aromas, along with some savoury mineral accents. It's medium-full bodied with juicy acids and tannins that are a touch grippy. Excellent length on the juicy finish. Still a bit young, needs a couple of years for the tannins to flesh themselves out. Tasted Nov/2019.
Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$19.95
The medium-intensity nose is pungent with gooseberry, kiwi, and green aromas and flavours. Medium-bodied with crunchy and juicy acids on the palate. Very good length on the finish. Tasted May/2018.
Villa Cerna Primocolle Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$19.95
95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino. Medium-high intensity nose has a lovely savoury, rustic character along with dark berry and hints of floral. It's medium-full bodied with smooth, refined tannins and pleasing savoury replays. Balanced acids are very good, with fine length. Quite sophisticated. Tasted Nov/2018.
Château Du Breuil 2014, Ac Haut Médoc
Bordeaux, France$26.95
A blend of 54% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot, this has a medium-high intensity nose of red berry scented, sweet cassis, and currant notes with savoury hints. It's full-ish bodied on the palate with nice aroma replays on the flavour profile. Acids are still quite fresh, while structured tannins have some grip on the tannic palate. Juicy finish is long and dry. Enjoyable now, but I would cellar 2-3 years. Tasted Feb/2020.
Michele Chiarlo Le Orme 16 Months Barbera D'asti 2016, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$15.95
Medium+ intensity nose of red berry and currant, along with subtle smoke, mineral, cherry, and floral nuances that add interest. Nice aroma replays on the medium-bodied palate, supported by juicy acids and very good length on the finish. Tasted Sept/2019. Score: 88+ pts
