Pascual Toso Barrancas Vineyards Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Mendoza

Medium+ intensity nose of cassis, green pepper, red licorice, black cherry, and currant which carry over very nicely on the full bodied palate. Tannins are ripe, with very good acidity and finishing very long. Well-balanced overall. Tasted July/2015.

Rockway Vineyards Riesling 2014, Small Lot, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment

Screw cap. The lovely, highly aromatic nose delivers aromas of petrol, white floral, wet stone, and apple with touches of lime citrus. It is medium+ bodied on the palate with tart lime citrus, apple, and floral flavours in an off-dry profile. It has a slightly viscous mouthfeel with juicy, balanced acidity. Maturing waxy and petrol notes are followed by lime citrus and touches of stony mineral on the long lasting, slightly chalky and dry finish. Tasted Jan/2021.

Gaia Agiorgitiko Nemea 2013

Synthetic Nomacorc cork. Perfumed nose of cherries, red currant, and raspberry with underlying cedar oak and vanilla aromas. On the mid-weighted palate, it has much of the same aromas, with fine, dusty tannins, good structure and fresh acidity. Slight warmth on the mid-palate. Bitter, lengthy finish that has hints of oak. Enjoyable now or cellar up to 3 years. Tasted Apr/2015.

Rosehall Run Hungry Point Pinot Noir 2013, VQA Prince Edward County

Medium intensity, focused aromas of strawberry, cherry and beetroot. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with nice aroma replays, bright acids and medium-long finish. Enjoyable! Tasted Apr/2015. Score: 88+ pts

Tawse Spark Limestone Ridge Riesling 2013, VQA Twenty Mile Bench

Medium+ aromas of tart lime, citrus and stone notes. It's medium-bodied with just off-dry aroma replays and a chalky mineral texture that leads to a long, dry-ish finish. Juicy and refreshing. Tasted June/2015.

Keint He Voyageur Pinot Noir 2013, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Medium+ intensity and appealing aromas of cherry, strawberry and beet root with some earth notes mingling in between. It's medium-bodied with pleasing aroma replays and well-balanced. It has juicy acids and tannins. Long finish. Tasted Apr/2016. Score: 88+ pts

Medium-to-high aromatics with red fruit notes of strawberry, cherry, raspberry as well as currant and vanilla for complexity which replay very nicely on the palate. It's medium+ bodied with very good acidity and a long finish. Tasted Apr/2015. Score: 88+ pts

Creekside Laura's Red 2012, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Mostly Cab Sauv (45%), Merlot (28%) , and Cab Franc (21%), this has medium+ intensity aromas moving towards savoury notes, but also still offers red & black fruits, currant, mint and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-full bodied with softening tannins and very good acidity. It shows some maturity with dried floral and currant flavours on the palate. Finish length is very good. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years. Last tasted Sept/2016.

Creekside Reserve Sauvignon Blanc Creekside Estate Vineyard 2013, Creek Shores

Appealing medium-high intensity aromas of herbally-wood spice notes and grassy nuances. It's medium-bodied with nicely balanced acids and pleasing aroma replays, along with hints of mineral. Long, juicy finish. Tasted June/2016.

Kacaba Cabernet/Syrah 2013, VQA Niagara Escarpment

This blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Syrah has a medium-high intensity nose that's smoky with white pepper, dark currant and cassis aromas. It's medium-bodied with a rounded mouthfeel and fresh acids. Spiced mid-palate. It has refined tannins and some coffee notes on the medium-long finish. Should have wide appeal. Tasted Jan/2015.

Wegeler Sweet Riesling 2012, Vdp Gutswein

Medium+ intensity aromas of wet rocks and citrus. It has brilliant acidity on the palate with lime, wet rocks, and orange peel flavours. It is quite sweet, while finishing long. Tasted May/2015.
