Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Southbrook Triomphe Chardonnay 2013, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Stelvin screw cap. Medium-high, complex aromatics with buttered popcorn, apple, pear, pineapple and whiffs of smoke and pineapple which all make an appearance on the flavour profile. Palate is medium+ bodied, lean with some creaminess, and a hint of sweetness. The very good acids keep the slightly sweet fruit in check. Slight heat on the long finish which also has honeyed fruit and vanilla spice flavours. Enjoy over the next 3 years. Tasted Nov/2014.
Juve Y Camps Pinot Noir Brut Rosé Cava, Do
Penedès, Spain$24.95
The delicate, medium+ intensity nose offers pretty aromas of slightly sweet and honeyed red fruit notes of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. The palate is essentially dry with 10 g/L residual sugar with fresh acids and creamy, effervescent mousse supporting the toasty, flavourful red fruit replays of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry on the dry, balanced flavour profile. Some white floral and citrus notes join on the mid-palate, adding complexity, and linger through to the long, dry, clean, and crisp finish. Tasted Oct/2021.
Cavino Grande Reserve 2008, Pdo Nemea
Peloponnese, Greece$18.95
Plum, dried fig and herb aromas from the cork. Medium+ aromatics from the glass with blackcurrant, leather, cocoa and plum notes. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with rubber, wild herb, leather, raspberry, and spice flavours. It has very good acidity, dusty tannins, and shows hints of cocoa on the medium-length finish. This fine, maturing wine will drink nicely for another 2-3 years. Tasted Apr/2015.
Hidden Bench Pinot Noir 2012, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Classic Pinot aromas and flavours. Elegant nose of sour cherry, strawberry and beetroot of medium-high intensity with balanced aroma replays on the palate, along with hints of mushroom and subtle oak spice. Medium+ level of tannins are not overbearing and show good balance with the very good acids. Well-balanced red wine with excellent length on the finish. Drink now or over the next 5 years. Tasted Nov/2014.
Domaine Galaman Fitou 2013, Ap
Languedoc, France$14.95
Ripe black plum, blackberry and dark cherry aromas from the cork. This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah has earthy mineral aromas that give way to blackberry and currant, with herbal and gentle baking spice accents. Quite dense on the full bodied palate with currant, herbally, dark berry, and boysenberry flavours. Acids are mouth-watering and the fine tannins are a touch drying. Finish length is very good. Approachable now, but should improve in 1-2 years and enjoy over the next half dozen years. Tasted Oct/2016.
Stoneleigh Latitude Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$21.95
Highly aromatic gooseberry, catpee, grass, grapefruit, and wet hay aromas which replay nicely on the balanced palate. Fresh, vibrant acids. Very long finish with some mineral, flinty notes on the finish. Tasted May/2015. Score: 90+ pts

The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing aroma replays and some herbally notes. Mouth-watering acids. It's smooth with silky tannins and excellent length on the finish. Will reward with 2-3 years in cellar. Tasted March/2015.
Mission Hill Reserve Shiraz 2012, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$26.95
Medium+ intensity nose with ripe, high-toned black and blue fruits and some vanillan aromas. On the palate, it's medium-to-full bodied and fruit-forward with fruity aroma replays. Food-friendly with good acids. Finish is lengthy and warm. Tasted Nov/2014.
Creekside Reserve Viognier 2013, Queenston Road Vineyard, VQA St. David's Bench, Niagara On The Lake

Medium intensity aromas featuring ripe tropical fruit, floral and herbally notes which echo on the medium+ bodied, fleshy palate. It's dry, with good acids and medium-to-long finish. Tasted June/2015.
