Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Apalta Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Colchagua Valley, Chile$24.95
Made with organic grapes and is blended with 7% Cab Franc and 5% Syrah. Low-to-medium intensity aromas of cassis, red fruits and oak aromas. Full-bodied with chalky tannins that are integrating nicely. Cedar, black fruit, cassis and sour cherry on the palate. Mouth-watering acidity and a smooth, lengthy finish. Tasted June/2013.
Mission Hill Riesling Reserve 2011, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$18.99
Crisp petrol, honey, and lime aromas of medium intensity, with hints of minerality. It's off-dry with a palate consisting of peach, citrus and tropical fruits. Balanced throughout with a fine seam of acidity that makes it very food-friendly. Lengthy finish. Nice! Tasted Sept/2013.

Huff Estates Winery Off Dry Riesling 2012, On Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$17.95
Because of the VQA Ontario designation, this will contain Niagara fruit, as well as County fruit. Medium-high intensity aromas of beeswax, petrol and minerals. Medium-full bodied with bracing acids. Off-dry in sweetness with lime and peach palate. Long finish that's a bit tart and a touch hot. Tasted Apr/2014.
Argiano Non Confunditur 2011, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
Blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 20% Syrah and 20% Sangiovese and has fruity aromas of red fruits and cherries. Medium-full bodied and round with more red fruits, cranberry-cherry notes and oak. Very good acidity, but overpowering at mid-palate with a very long finish. Chalky tannins show this red wine is still a bit young. Very long finish. Give it 2-3 years. Tasted Feb/2013.
Parés Baltà B Brut, D.O. Cava
Penedès, Spain$21.19
Medium-high intensity nose offers bready, citrusy and freshly baked bread aromas that follow through on the fairly dry palate led by ripe citrus notes. It has frothy mousse with balanced, lemony acids that become quite crisp on the mid-palate. Very good length on the crisp finish. Tasted Aug/2019.
Pondview Bella Terra Chardonnay 2011, Barrel Fermented, VQA Four Mile Creek
Ontario, Canada$20.25
Medium-high intensity nose featuring buttered popcorn, apple, pear and hints of butterscotch aromas which follow through on the well-balanced palate. It's full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and good, balanced acids. Finish is long and smooth. Tasted Sept/2013. Score: 89+ pts

Angels Gate Riesling 2010, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
Screw cap. Highly aromatic and very appealing nose of petrol, mineral oil, lemon/lime and flinty stony minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with high, lemony acids that balances the sweetness, making this wine just a touch off-dry. Clean lemon/lime and mineral flavours, with more minerally flavours closing out on the finish, with very good length. Seems to be coming apart a bit, so drink soon. Tasted Apr/2017.
