Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

13th Street June's Vineyard Riesling 2019, VQA Creek Shores, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Fresh, fragrant and pretty with floral aromas surrounding notes lime citrus, white peach, and whiffs of limestone minerality. It's medium-dry on the concentrated, slightly fleshy palate with honeyed, orange citrus, peach, and tangy lime flavours lifted by racy acidity. Chalky textured with touches of minerality on the mid-palate. Very good length on the long, tangy, minerally, and slightly dry finish. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Mar/2020.
Ferzo Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2016, Dop
Abruzzo, Italy$18.95
Medium+ intensity nose of cinnamon, oak spice, and sour red cherry, all of which come through on the medium-bodied palate with fresh, vibrant acidity. Structured with some grip to the tannins. Very good length on the finish. Still a bit young, age for 1 year for better integration. Tasted Sept/2018.
Simonsig Labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Wo Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch, South Africa$24.95
This Cabernet Sauvignon, which contains 2% Merlot, has a ripe nose of currant, cassis, red and black fruits, with touches of herb. It's full bodied with nice minty aroma replays on the structured palate with slightly chalky tannins. Acids are very good, while the long finish has currant, cassis and well-integrated oak spice flavours. Tasted Oct/2019.

Hawke's Bay, New Zealand$23.95
This blend of roughly 72% Merlot, 18% Syrah, 5% Malbec, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon was raised in French oak (25% new) for 12 months. It has a medium+ intensity nose of currant, cassis, pepper spice, blackberry, and plum. The medium-full bodied palate has balanced acids and soft tannins with pleasing peppery spice replays on the flavour profile. Very good length on the juicy finish. Enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Mar/2020.
Wakefield Shiraz 2018, Clare Valley
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Screw cap. The medium-high intensity nose is fresh with herbal, leafy, mint and spice layered over black cherry, plum, and gentle oak aromas. The medium-full bodied palate offers well-integrated oak spice, black cherry, plum, and peppery spice flavours supported by smooth, fine-grained, and sweet tannins. It has fresh, juicy acidity. Pleasantly dry (but undeniably Shiraz) and well-balanced overall with a touch of chocolate on the long finish. Highly recommended buy! Tasted Aug/2020.

Ripe and funky with spices, currant, red and purple fruit aromas. It's medium+ bodied with dark berry, currant, and savoury oak flavours supported by good acidity and chunky tannins that could use year or two to integrate. Very good length on the savoury finish. Tasted Oct/2019.
