Densely-coloured ruby. Rich earth, moss and dark tobacco, after letting it breathe, pomegranate, dark berry and raisinated fruits emerge. The body is medium-full with tight tannins and the length is on the shorter side with a pleasing roast coffee finish. Will be drinking wonderfully in 2-5 years. November 2012

An opaque ruby with nearly black core, even the fine sediment, another port ‘calling card’. Medium-bodied with a tannic grip. Expect black and blue berries, violet, black pepper and earth. Complex, much to offer, will be great in a couple years. Can’t wait? Then slowly savour it over the evening as it breathes. Sept 2012

Medium-ruby colour. This wine is austere in personality with firmer tannins and acidity. There are notes of sour cherry, red plum, wet leather, wood char and slate. The plum notes release after decanting, it otherwise feels restricted. Great for stimulating the appetite. Sept 2012.

Deep ruby colour with black cherry, moist cedarbox, earth and root vegetable. The medium-full-bodied palate had firm tannin and a bit of heat. Medium length. Decant for full potential. Good value. Nov 2012

Deep ruby with a hint of garnet and some sediment. Developing a nose of dried fruit, predominantly black cherries. There’s an old world style note of earth which adds to the character. The palate is medium-full bodied and one can expect dried fig, smoke, and savoury spices. A lengthy finish. There is plenty of acidity and gripping tannin in the structure so, be sure to either decant or wait a few years for the wine to improve. Great value. Oct 2012.

Medium ruby colour and developing its aromas of ripe strawberry, red currant, cedar and nutmeg. The palate is Medium-full-bodied and has intensity with ample acidity. Raspberry jam, cherry chocolates, and a touch of spice on the finish. Quite lengthy. Very good quality and value.

Plenty of colour and flavour extraction. Currants, blackberry, coffee bean with small notes of bell pepper and cooking spices. Full-bodied weight with balanced acidity, soft tannin and very good length. Another enjoyable wine from a consistent producer.

Pale straw in colour with salted almond, light brine and a touch of acidity. The length is on the shorter side but is very appetite stimulating. Pairs very well with mixed nuts and green olives. March 2013.

Lighter ruby in colour with notes of clove, thyme and red raspberry. The palate is medium-light in weight, good acidity, but the flavours are insipid. Catchy bottle, but more value to be had elsewhere.
