Deep ruby colour. Intense rasinated nose of figs, chocolate, and dark plum. Lush palate, almost off-dry and with an elixir like quality, in part to the 16.5% alc. Soft tannin and with a little acidity for structure. Tasting of the luscious fruits along with cocoa and aniseed. Extensive length. Oct 2012.

Elegance and complexity with buttery toast, vanilla, and caramel, with fruits of brown pears and stewed peach. The structured acidity makes the medium bodied mouthfeel quite lively. Excellent length and balance. Nov 2012.

Deep-coloured with a youthful purpled tinge. Medium-full body, with structured acidity and soft tannin. Notes of blackberry, raspberry and a touch of leather and cracked pepper. Had a long lived length, but had a touch of heat from the alcohol. Otherwise, well-balanced and shows some refinement. Sept 2012.

Medium garnet colour with pink highlights. Wonderful nose of poached plum and dried fig, with some sweet spice, chocolate tones, and a whiff of walnut. The palate is rounded and balanced - a touch of heat. The finish pleasing, with more walnut coming through. Long-lived length. Mar 2011.

This deeply golden, late-harvest wine had a developing nose of stonefruits, orange marmalade and orange pekoe tea. It also had an interesting wooded-like scent that reminded me of an antique shop. The palate is medium-sweet with balancing acidity and generous body. Think dried apricot, marmalade and a cup of tea (with two lumps). Excellent length. (Feb 2011)

Medium amber colour. Intense nose of fig, brown sugar, marzipan and antiqued wood. The palate is dry, and beautifully balanced. Flavours of roasted, smoky nuts. The finish is long-lived with a savoury, lighter soy sauce note. Would pair wonderfully with savoury styles of Asian fare. Mar 2011.

Garnet in colour with tawnied rim. Generous nose of dried fruits, strawberry, caramel, with sweet cinnamon and nutmeg spices. The palate is medium-bodied and has grippy tannins (especially sensed in the finish). Dried fruits, toffee, cinnamon, pecan flavours. Generous length. Lay it down a while or serve with some protein to mop up the tannins. Feb 2011.
