Plenty of colour and flavour extraction. Currants, blackberry, coffee bean with small notes of bell pepper and cooking spices. Full-bodied weight with balanced acidity, soft tannin and very good length. Another enjoyable wine from a consistent producer.

Acidity balances the hint of sweetness in this approachable Vouvray. Nose of grasses (hay), lemon rind, and subtle apricot. A palate of sweet gala apple, some minerality, and touch honeyed through its finish of good length.

The wine has a nose of orange rind, green apple, and a wet slate note. The palate is medium-dry with balanced acidity, medium-bodied and plushly rounded. The flavour profile is rather straightforward with

Densely-coloured ruby. Rich earth, moss and dark tobacco, after letting it breathe, pomegranate, dark berry and raisinated fruits emerge. The body is medium-full with tight tannins and the length is on the shorter side with a pleasing roast coffee finish. Will be drinking wonderfully in 2-5 years. November 2012

Deep ruby in colour. Medium+ intensity, youthful nose of black currant and blackberry. There is a note of mintiness. Structured acidity and wound up tannins, just like a young Cabernet. Palate was a bit closed with a straightforward black fruit profile. Long length. Ready to enjoy but will improve and open up. Feb 2011

Medium intense ruby-garnet colour. Developing a nose of raspberry, red cherry, earth, wet fall leaves, and a bit gamey. The palate is on the acidic and tannic side which could use some time to integrate. Tangy raspberry, rhubarb, and beet. The length was average. Cellar for a few more years. Jan 2011.

An opaque ruby with nearly black core, even the fine sediment, another port ‘calling card’. Medium-bodied with a tannic grip. Expect black and blue berries, violet, black pepper and earth. Complex, much to offer, will be great in a couple years. Can’t wait? Then slowly savour it over the evening as it breathes. Sept 2012
