Château Clarke 2015, Ac Listrac Médoc
Bordeaux, France$54.95
I feel I should have waited a few more years before I tasted this. I did not fine the aromas or flavors as complexed as I was hoping for. In the nose, I was getting black current with a little oak. On the palate very grippy tannins. That surprised me considering the wine is 70% Merlot. Dark fruit flavors.
The tannins did smooth out a little after the bottle was opened for a while so I do recommend to decant for at least 30 minutes, maybe an hour.

Pierre Amadieu Domaine Grand Romane Cuvée Prestige Vieilles Vignes 2017, Ac Gigondas
Rhône, France$32.95
I was a little disappointed with this wine. I have enjoyed a few nice Gigondas wines the last few months but this one was missing the charactor and balance of what I have come to expect from a Gigondas. Black fruit on the nose and palate. Grippy tannins. Nice finish. I would suggest to decant for 30 minutes.
My opinion is if you plan on opening this, perhaps wait a couple more years for some more charactor to develop.

Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$24.95
I had the 2017 vintage a couple months ago. The 2017 was better. This was good too though.
The top take away from this wine was the length. I thought the length was well above average.
Aromas of lemon and fresh cut grass.
Taste of green apple and lychee. Very good acidity.
Although the wine was good at around 8C, while it sat in my wine chiller and got cooler, I did enjoy the wine more. It became more crisp and balanced.

J. Dénuzière Crozes Hermitage 2018, Ac
Rhône, France$29.95
This was a good wine but not as complexed as I was expecting. Notes of black fruit, pepper and a bit of wood. Nice dark fruit flavours. It was interesting to taste how much the tannins have calmed after a year and a half since the last reviews. I found the tannins were at a very nice level.
Throughout the evening, I did not notice any change in this wine, so I see no reason to decant.

The Chocolate Block 2019, Wo Swartland, South Africa
Swartland, South Africa$39.95
This wine was okay but to me nothing too special. I was getting your basic dark fruit aromas. I will say that you should decant or wait a bit before you drink this. When I opened it at first it was very tight with no character. After about 30 minutes it did open up and I did enjoy it more.

L'ecole No. 41 Semillon 2017, Columbia Valley, Washington
Washington, Usa$29.95
On the nose I was getting beeswax with a hint of chamomile tea. This wine was a nice dry wine with a long tasty finish. Not that I ever tasted citronella, but I image that was the taste that I was getting. A waxy lemon flavor. At first I was giving this wine a 91, but that flavor grew on me. This was my first Semillon, and I am looking forward to the next.

Emiliana Coyam 2018, Los Robles Estate, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$29.95
I held on to this 2018 vintage for 2 years. I was excited to taste how this must have evolved since the last reviews over two years ago. It seems that it did not get anymore complexed. The nose had dark fruit with a hint of dark chocolate. The same dark fruit and dark chocolate with the flavour.
I thought the tannin level was pretty much perfect. Also a long finish.
It did not evolve much throughout the evening, so I see no reason to decant.

Domaine Du Murinais Les Amandiers Crozes Hermitage 2019, Ap
Rhône, France$24.75
Perfect balance of tannins. I was not getting so much complexity, but the berry flavours and and aromas were fantastic. I cant say it is a 93 due to the lack of complexity. I think 91 is fair.

Delta Pinot Noir 2017, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$27.95
This is not a fruit forward wine. This wine was very earthy, and I enjoyed that for a change. I was getting aromas of dried tobacco. It also had a hint of cola and smoke. Nice length with a pleasant hint of heat on the finish.

Two Sisters Eleventh Post 2016, VQA Niagara River
Ontario, Canada$43.00
Aromas of oak and dark fruit. Very balanced. Nice tannins but not over whelming. Delicious flavors of dark fruit with a hint of oak makes me want to want to have another glass, after that glass...maybe just another glass.

Re-tasted March 2021. I was expecting at least the same or better results than 6 months ago. However, it seemed to take a step backwards. Same flavor and aroma profiles but these profiles were not as strong as 6 months ago. I would give this a 91 now.
