Henry Of Pelham Lost Boys Limited Edition Bin 106 Baco Noir 2020, Sustainable, VQA Ontario
Ontario, Canada$34.95
Some nice fruity flavours but the issue for me was the lack of tannins. It was so weak that it was close to drinking a fruit drink. Unless you enjoy low tannins, I would drink this right now. In fact, I have the 2021 vintage, I will drink that in the coming weeks as I feel aging will take away any tannins that it currently has.

Zuani Vigne Bianco 2018, D.O.C. Collio
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy$29.00
Aromas of citronella and lemon zest. Long finish. Great balance. The taste was fantastic, pear, apple and a hint of peach.
NOTE: I got these aromas and tasting notes at the recommended 14C. Of course these were not as strong as I cooled the wine. I will say that I was worried about drinking a white on a warm day at 14C, but it was not bad at all.

J. Dénuzière Crozes Hermitage 2018, Ac
Rhône, France$29.95
This was a good wine but not as complexed as I was expecting. Notes of black fruit, pepper and a bit of wood. Nice dark fruit flavours. It was interesting to taste how much the tannins have calmed after a year and a half since the last reviews. I found the tannins were at a very nice level.
Throughout the evening, I did not notice any change in this wine, so I see no reason to decant.

The Chocolate Block 2019, Wo Swartland, South Africa
Swartland, South Africa$39.95
This wine was okay but to me nothing too special. I was getting your basic dark fruit aromas. I will say that you should decant or wait a bit before you drink this. When I opened it at first it was very tight with no character. After about 30 minutes it did open up and I did enjoy it more.

Mullineux Kloof Street Chenin Blanc 2021, W.O. Swartland
Swartland, South Africa$19.95
When I opened this and poured it into my glass, I was getting aromas of butter and Cantaloupe. Within a minute, I lost those aromas and I was getting just a hint of Cantaloupe with lemon. It was interesting how fast that changed so keep a "nose" out for that. This wine was medium to full bodied, with a medium length. Some acidity (but I was expecting more). Taste of apple and pear.

Hidden Bench Estate Chardonnay Unfiltered 2019, VQA Beamsville Bench
Ontario, Canada$29.95
To me, this wine had a dominant aroma of candle wax, followed by butter and a very slight hint of lemon in the back ground.
This wine had flavours of tree fruit such as apples.
This was a complexed wine and I feel the aromas and flavours that I stated are not giving this wine justice. I had this wine last night and I am still thinking how wonderful it was.

Creekside Iconoclast Syrah 2017, St. David's Bench, Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$25.00
This was a nice wine. However, I did not find any secondary or tertiary notes that really stood out, so that is why I gave this an 87. With that said, this wine did have notes of black fruit. It also has nice grippy tannins with some acidity. The finish is tasty as well, with some dark fruit flavors that linger.
This wine did not evolve throughout the evening, so I see no reason to decant.

Mission Hill Reserve Chardonnay 2019, Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$26.95
This was a nice wine but nothing stood out for me that makes it deserve a 90+ review. It does have aromas of tree fruit with a hint of lime zest. Nice length. I once even had a nice buttery flavor on the finish. This wine was very finicky when it came to temperature. I started with 12C but it did not suit this wine. I say around 8 or 9C was the sweet spot. When it got cooler than that, it closed up as expected.

Domaine Du Murinais Les Amandiers Crozes Hermitage 2019, Ap
Rhône, France$24.75
Perfect balance of tannins. I was not getting so much complexity, but the berry flavours and and aromas were fantastic. I cant say it is a 93 due to the lack of complexity. I think 91 is fair.

Lan Gran Reserva 2012, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$33.95
The first aromas that I got was chocolate, This was followed by oak.
What I did enjoy was the flavors. Not that I ever ate a cigar box or leather, but these were the taste that I got. I love these types of flavors that I do not taste in 90% of the wines I drink.
I did not notice much evolution after I opened the wine so I see no reason to decant.
