La Posta Pizzella Family Malbec 2021, Mendoza

Aromas and flavors of dark fruit. Nice tannins, not too strong but enough to match well with a steak or drink on its own. The complexity is lacking, but it is a nice tasting wine.

Beringer Brothers Bourbon Barrel Red Blend 2016

I had this last night at a party. On the nose, nothing distinctive came to mind. Where I was impressed was the flavour. It was a delicious nicely balanced wine with a nice cherry flavour. I really did enjoy this wine. I see it is rated an 86, but I am giving it a 90 based on flavour and balance.

Mer Soleil Silver Unoaked Chardonnay 2016, Monterey County

I tried this on a wine tasting on a cruise a few days ago. I was not able to detect much character on the nose. I was tasting a mix of pear and apple but it was very subtle. What I enjoyed was the balance and acidity of the wine. I found it very refreshing.

Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, California

Aroma's of dark fruit and oak with a hint of vanilla. Grippy tannins. Flavors of dark fruit but lacking other flavors. This is a good wine to pair with food.

Citra Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2007

Ca' Del Sette Appassionante 2016, Igt Veneto

I do not recall the aromas of this wine but I do recall that when I tasted it, I was disappointed. The tannin's were smooth but the acidity was too high. I did not find this wine balanced. This was a hot wine too. Through out the evening, the wine did not improve so no need to decant. I was drinking this at room temperature around 23C. The recommended temperature is 18C. It is possible that the lack of character on the wine was due to drinking it too warm. I strongly suggest to cool it to the suggested 18C before drinking.
