Château Mayne Vieil 2016, Ac Fronsac
Bordeaux, France$19.95
Nice dark fruit aromas. Tannins are firm but not overpowering. Nice dark fruit flavors.
This wine was not too complexed, but it was still nice.
Over the evening, I did not find this wine evolved too much, so I see no reason to decant.

13th Street Whitty Vineyard Gamay 2018, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$23.95
Aromas of cassis and a minerality such as flint.
This wine has a nice acidity to cut through fatty foods. Very little tannins.
The wine did not develop throughout the evening so I see no reason to decant.

Viñalba Reserva Malbec 2017, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$18.95
This is a drinking wine for those people who do not care about if a wine is complexed or not. As for those that read this, I was disappointed with this wine. At first I assumed the nose was muted because I tasted it right out of my wine fridge at 13C. But as it warmed up and aerated, I still found the aromas very dull. The flavors were nice for easy drinking. Very smooth tannins, dark fruit flavor with a hint of dark chocolate.

Cono Sur Bicicleta Pinot Noir 2019, Central Valley
Chile$11.95
This wine had some strong earthy tones. Perhaps think mushrooms on a forest floor. Very light tannins. Not much lenght. Normally I would love the earthy tones if they were layered with fruit. But in this case, it over powered everything else.

Henry Of Pelham Baco Noir Speck Family Reserve 2020, VQA Ontario
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Aromas of oak and cherry cola. The taste was a mouthful of cherries. Tannins have smoothed out. Medium length on the finish.
If you still have this wine, I think you should drink it now as I feel the tannins are losing there grip and any more aging may cause this wine to feel more like juice.

J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot 2015, Paso Robles
California, Usa$22.95
On my first glass, I was pleasantly surprised. On the nose I was getting a slight hint of cigar box and a little bit of plum. On the palate I was getting dark fruit and a nice oaky finish. I found the tannins were not overpowering but enough to remind you that they are there in a good way. The finish was a nice length at about 25 seconds. I would have rated it a 90 but, as the night progressed, the wine did not evolve but diminished. I still ended up giving it at 89. I recommend if you do try this wine, do not decant.

Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Napa Valley
California, Usa$219.95
I had this at a wine tasting on a cruise. On the nose I was only getting the alcohol evaporating from the glass. It would have been nice to decant for a while so I can get more of a sense of what the wine could offer. However, to me the taste was very balanced. The tannin's were smooth. I could not pick up any more characteristics beside dark fruit, but it was okay because of the balance of the wine, I think it was pretty good. With that said, $200 good?? Not sure about that.

Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough
Marlborough, New Zealand$17.95
On the nose I got a hint of mango and pineapple. It was very subtle. I was tasting hints of peach. I found the wine not as crisp and acidic as I would like. The wine was good but not great. That is why I gave this 2017 vintage an 88.

Redstone Chardonnay Limestone Vineyard 2015, Twenty Mile Bench
Ontario, Canada$38.95
Aroma of citronella! I was shocked to find citronella in a chardonnay but I was sniffing through out the night and that it what I was getting. This was a well balanced wine that I enjoyed a little cooler. I enjoyed this wine even though it was not too complexed.
