Bieler Père Et Fils Sabine Rosé 2008, Ac Coteaux D'aix En Provence

$12.95

This wine was simply delicious. For the price, it's a great gem. It was so soft on the palate. I'm with John Szabo on this one - I want a case or two. This is one of my great surprises of the season so far!

What a wonderful sparkling wine from the Loire Valley of France! I purchased two bottles today. An elegant sparkler at a fantastic price point for what you get. Long and enjoyable finish with acidity that leaves your mouth watering. 89-90 for sure.

Yum! I just love a good Cremant and this particular wine is a terrific example as to why. It's soft and creamy while maintaing a lot of the flavours of a sparkling wine made in the Champagne style. It has a wonderful finish and will surely be enjoyed.

You sure get a lot for your money with this wine. Lots of different flavours. Great fruit with a surprisingly long finish. I agree with David Lawrason in that it's almost cloying. I wouldn't say this is my favourite Shiraz but for the money, you do get a lot. I think this wine would be a general crowd pleaser.

Château Boyrein 2009, Ac Graves
Bordeaux, France
$13.80

I was at a "Bordeaux After Work" tasting event tonight at Origin in Toronto and this was one of the wines on the menu. I liked it! A great patio wine from Bordeaux. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion and Muscadelle, it's a fine sipper. Good minerality, acidity and flavour. For the price, I think it will be a crowd pleaser.

Faller Geisberg Riesling 2007, Ac Alsace Grand Cru Bottle
Faller Geisberg Riesling 2007, Ac Alsace Grand Cru
Alsace, France
$20.95

Good length and acidity. It's a nice Riesling from Alsace. Not as zesty as perhaps say, some Ontario Rieslings. There was a bit of a softness to it. Nothing really "popped" out but it was enjoyable.

I always enjoy the Meiomi Pinot Noir. I'm drinking it now as I write this, slightly chilled. This wine has good red fruit, medium length and soft tannins. It's enjoyable to drink. It doesn't make you think. It's nice to have a wine like that once in a while.

Jacques Bourguignon Chablis 1er Cru 2009, Ac

Aromas of apple, mineral and spice. There's a nice mild spiciness on the finish as well from touch of oak used. Good acidity and length. I enjoyed this Chablis.

Nice wine for the money. A bit on the woody side so it may bother some. If you're looking for an enjoyable Bordeaux wine for under $20, this one could be considered.
