Croix De Montceau Saint Véran 2010, Ac
Burgundy, France$13.75
A round, spirited Chardonnay from southern Burgundy. Buttery and creamy yet maintaining a decent underlying structure. An approachable style highlighting lemon zest and subtle spice notes. Good value. Tasted February 2013.
Chavet & Fils La Dame De Jacques Coeur Menetou Salon Blanc 2011, Ac
Loire, France$19.95
Plenty of mineral notes with fresh herbs, unripe white peach, green apple, and pear skin. The finish is reminiscent of grapefruit peel. A lovely and lively Sauvignon Blanc from the appellation of Menetou-Salon in the Loire Valley.
Mumm Napa Sparkling Rosé, Napa Valley, California, Méthode Traditionnelle
California, Usa$29.95
I remember having this lovely bubbly at Mumm Napa itself. I enjoyed it just as much again. Made with mostly Pinot Noir and a little bit of Chardonnay, it has a light pink, salmon colour with nice fruit flavour. This sparkler will enhance any spring day. An elegant wine for not too bad of a price.
Dornier Donatus White 2009, Wo Western Cape, South Africa
South Africa$12.95
I enjoyed this wine very much! I tried at the last iYellow Wine Club Event - South African Braii. It was one of the gems of the evening. A nice wine for the money!
Mas Des Bressades Cuvée Tradition Rosé 2010, Ac Costières De Nîmes
Rhône, France$15.95
I enjoyed this rosé a few days ago while I was visiting some French friends. How fitting as this rosé comes from the South of France. I usually like the wines from this producer. For the money, it's a great rosé. Wonderful flavour and acidity. You can't get much more for $13.95. I'm going to stock up for the summer!
Kenneth Volk Santa Maria Cuvée Chardonnay 2007, Santa Maria Valley
California, Usa$23.95
I've been to this winery in the Santa Barbara region. They have some good wines, however, I can't say this was one of my favourites.
Palagetto Santa Chiara Vernaccia Di San Gimignano 2009, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$16.95
I really enjoyed this wine! It had good body, crisp acidity, lovely aromas of apples and straw. Great value.
Bougrier Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2009
Loire, France$14.55
A delicious wine for a steal! This is a great value wine that really shows Chenin Blanc well. From the Loire Valley in France, this wine is off-dry with good acidity. Wonderful flavours of peach and honey. Serve chilled with or without food. I'm sure it will be a hit at your next get-together.
Eric Louis Sancerre 2009, Ac
Loire, France$22.95
I tasted this yesterday and I liked it. I found it to be a lovely wine for the money. It had great bright acidity. Good nose of herbs and grapefruit with a nice finish.
Mausberg Brut Crémant D'alsace, Traditional Method, Ac, Alsace, France
Alsace, France$16.25
A nice sparkling wine from Alsace. This blanc de blancs (white made entirely of white grapes) is made with Pinot blanc and Pinot Auxerrois. I think this would be an overall crowd pleaser. It has a nice mouthfeel and is quite refreshing. It would be a great aperitif. Good price.
