Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Loimer Grüner Veltliner 2016, Dac Kamptal
Kamptal, Austria$23.15
Medium-high intensity nose features aromas of blood orange, citrus, grapefruit, and some mineral notes. The palate is ripe with grapefruit and lime flavours. Lively acids could use 6 months to settle down. Long, clean finish. Consistently a quality wine. Tasted May/2017.
Leaning Post Riesling Wismer Foxcroft Vineyard 2016, Twenty Mile Bench
Ontario, Canada$25.20
The medium-high intensity nose is clean and ripe, offering pear and green apple aromas, plus hints of lemon citrus and white floral. The bright, medium-full bodied and off-dry palate is spicy with crunchy fruit and more citrus and pear flavours. There's a nice mineral texture and the finish length is excellent. Tasted Aug/2019.
La Ferme Du Mont Première Côte Côtes Du Rhône 2016, Ap
Rhône, France$18.95
Medium+ intensity nose is ripe with dark cherry, dark berry, earth, brett, licorice, and raspberry aromas gain complexity with air, introducing kirsch liqueur and coffee aromas. It's medium+ bodied with ripe tannins, nice aroma replays plus some floral notes. Acid are very good and the finish length is good. Drinkable now, but will improve in a few years time. Tasted Nov/2017.
Villacreces Pruno 2016, Do Ribera Del Duero
Ribera Del Duero, Spain$22.95
Approximately 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Black plum and cedar oak aromas from the cork. In the glass, this has a medium+ intensity nose with smoky black licorice, black cherry, oak spice, and cassis with hints of earth and black plum aromas. It's medium-bodied on the palate with grippy, muscular tannins and fresh acids lifting the black cherry, blackberry, currant, and oak flavours. Drying mid-palate. Long finish with earthy and smoky elements, and just a touch of chocolate bitterness. Solid wine that needs 3+ years of cellar time. Tasted Aug/2018.
Cave Spring Estate Riesling 2016, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Fairly intense nose offers fresh, clean mineral, green apple and lime citrus aromas. It is medium-bodied and dry with very nicely balanced aroma replays. It has clean, lemony acids and a long, tart finish. Tasted Sept/2018.
Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett 2015, Prädikatswein, Vdp Grosse Lage
Mosel, Germany$22.25
The medium-to-high intensity nose is earthy and mineral-driven, plus has lemon, lime and pink grapefruit notes, with much of the same on the nicely balanced, off-dry palate. Acids are bright acids and the finish is long, crisp, and clean. Tasted June/2018.
Southern Right Pinotage 2016, Wo Hemel En Aarde Valley, Walker Bay
South Africa$34.95
Open, fragrant, and elegant with spicy and dark red berry notes, along with an earthy, savoury character adding complexity. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with very nice aroma replays and supple tannins having some grip. Pleasing white pepper notes show up on the mid-palate. Vibrant acids. Very good finish length. Tasted Sept/2018.
