Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Tasted June/2018. Score: 90+ pts
Gaja Ca'marcanda Promis 2014, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$54.95
This blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah, and 10% Sangiovese has medium+ intensity and complex aromas of lovely floral, cherry, brett/barnyard, earth, red & black fruits, cocoa, blueberry and olive that also come through on the medium+ bodied palate. Bright acids. Dusty tannins are quite structured. Finish length is very good. Enjoy over the next 10-15 years. Tasted Oct/2016.
Ségla 2010, Second Wine Of Château Rauzan Ségla, Ac Margaux, Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$69.95
Lovely red cherry, floral, wet forest floor, and earthy aromas. The medium-bodied palate is classy with soft, smooth, refined tannins and very good acidity. The balanced flavour profile mimics the nose. Elegant, harmonious and showing plenty of finesse. Forest floor with hints of barnyard on the long finish, with excellent length. Enjoy until 2024. Tasted Sept/2019.
Bodega Garzón Reserva Albariño 2018, Maldonado
Uruguay, World$21.95
The pretty nose offers fragrant and ripe apricot and peach aromas with hints of lemon citrus. It is medium-full bodied on the structured palate that has a slight spritzy character. Dry flavour profile with citrus, tangy grapefruit, white floral and herbally notes that are lifted with fresh, crisp, and bright acidity. Stone and citrus fruit flavours give way to mineral notes on the long, crisp finish. Tasted June/2019.
Paul Cluver Estate Chardonnay 2017, Wo Elgin
Elgin, South Africa$29.95
Medium-high intensity nose is a touch reductive with lemon citrus and pear and aromas, while the medium bodied palate offers peach, lemon citrus and pear notes that are barrel influenced but nicely balanced. Cool, fresh acids. Apple and pear notes linger on the long finish. Tasted June/2019. Score: 90+ pts
Hidden Bench Terroir Caché Meritage 2012, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$44.95
From the excellent 2012 vintage, this is a blend of 46% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 13% Malbec, offering big complex, plummy, dark fruit, currant, sweet oak, mint and licorice aromas and flavours. Full-bodied with firm tannins and mouth-watering acids on the palate. Long finish. Try in 4+ years and will drink for a decade. Tasted Oct/2016.
Hidden Bench Pinot Noir Unfiltered 2017, Beamsville Bench
Ontario, Canada$34.95
The nose is a bit shy at the moment with incense, spice, raspberry, cherry, and beetroot aromas. It's medium-bodied on the structured palate with crunchy fruit and lovely aroma replays on the flavour profile. Touch bitter on the mid-palate, giving way to juicy acids, fine tannins, and a long finish. Tasted Feb/2019.
