Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Seriously Cool Chardonnay 2015, VQA Ontario
Ontario, Canada$14.95
Screw cap. Floral, ripe tropical fruit notes, green apple and poached pear aromas emanate from the glass. The palate medium+ bodied with a lush, round mouthfeel and sweet fruited flavours similar to the aroma profile, along with lime notes. It has bright, balanced acids and good length on the finish. Crowd-pleaser suitable for patio weather. Blend of 65% Chardonnay Musque, 26% Chardonnay and 9% Riesling. Tasted Mar/2016.
Fielding Estate Chardonnay Musqué 2007, VQA Niagara Peninsula

2011 vintage. Lovely aromatics of honeydew melon and fruit salad. Replays of honeydew melon and fruit salad on the palate, plus hints of smoke and peach. Light-bodied, off-dry and with a long-finish. A nice summer wine! Tasted June/2012.
Stonehedge Reserve Meritage 2008, Napa Valley

Some barnyard, earth aromas. Red berries, currant, raspberry, milk chocolate flavours. Long, spicy finish. Chewy. Tasted Oct/2010.
Featherstone Pinot Noir 2008, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$25.30
Very earthy with mushroom and forest floor aromas. Light-bodied and made in a cool-climate style with sourcherry, beet root notes on the palate. Mouth-watering acidity. Ripe fruit with slightly chalky tannins that are integrating nicely. Tasted Sept/2012.
Fernandez Escudo De Plata Gran Reserva 2004, Do Jumilla
Murcia, Spain$19.95
Corks smell reminds me of prune and raisin - not a fan of such aromas. Having said that, the aromas and flavours from the glass are MUCH better. Red fruits, spice, herbs and vanilla and earth aromas from the glass. Lavender, raspberry, cherry and floral notes on the palate. Medium-bodied. Smooth, well integrated tannins. Could have been cellared for another 1-2 years, but definitely enjoyable now. Tasted Nov/2011.
Diamond Estates Hat Trick Red 2010, Ontario VQA
Ontario, Canada$12.95
Mulberry, dark fruit and cedar aromas. Balanced flavour profile with plush cassis, red fruits, black cherry and hints of vanilla. Medium-bodied, easy drinking wine. Tannins are well-integrated. Paired nicely with shish kebobs and homemade piri-piri chicken burgers. Should be finished in one sitting. Tasted May/2012.
Two Oceans Shiraz 2013

Screw cap. Medium+ intensity aromas with smoky oak jumping out of the glass and giving way to blackberry, meaty, blackberry and cherry notes. It's medium-bodied on the palate with flavours of black cherry, vanillan spice, and roasted coffee. Balanced, refreshing acids and a medium-length, dark roast coffee and vanillan flavoured finish. Easy drinking, BBQ wine. Tasted Sept/2014.
