Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Señorío De La Antigua Finca Cabanela Mencía 2015, Vino De La Tierra De Castilla Y León
Castilla y León, Spain$14.95
Tasted Feb/2020.
Ruelas Reserva Red 2019, Vinho Regional Lisboa
Lisboa, Portugal$11.95
Blend of 50% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Nacional, and 20% Syrah. The medium+ intensity aromas are ripe and fruity with dark red cherry and sweet spices with touches of raisin and fig. It's medium+ with more ripe dark cherry, sweet spice and some raisiny flavours to go along with fresh, balanced acidity and supple, slightly chalky tannins. Sweet vanillin oak and savoury notes linger on the finish. Tasted Nov/2020.
Toro Bravo Secco Sparkling
Spain$12.95
Charmat method sparkling wine. Blend of 50% Macabeo, 30% Parellada, and 20% Xarel-lo, and enclosed by screw cap. Sweet citrus, floral, peach, and pear aromas rise out of the glass. On the medium-bodied, creamy palate it has frothy mousse and fine bubbles with pleasantly off-dry (i.e. slightly sweet) aroma replays on the flavour profile that linger through to the finish, with decent length. Casual, uncomplicated bubbly to enjoy as an aperitif or in a sparkling wine cocktail. Tasted Dec/2020.
Bottega Pinot Grigio Rosé 2021, D.O.C. Delle Venezie
Veneto, Italy$17.95
The fresh, medium-high intensity nose delivers pretty, perfumed aromas of honeysuckle, grapefruit, floral, and orange citrus. The medium-full bodied palate is dry and honeyed with pleasing honeysuckle, grapefruit, floral, and citrusy replays joined by hints of white peach. Gentle acids are juicy and well-balanced, although I would've liked more acidity for a fresher experience. Leesy mineral notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted June 2022. Score: 87+ pts
Cabriz Rosé 2022, D.O.C. Dão
Dão, Portugal$14.95
This unoaked blend of Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro has a medium+ intensity nose that offers enticing aromas of grapefruit, raspberry, honeysuckle, and citrus with a whiff of minerality. It has good weight on the medium+ to medium-full bodied palate with ripe citrus, grapefruit, raspberry, honeysuckle, apple & red berry flavours. There is a vague impression of sweetness, but it's tempered by the fresh, crisp, and lively acidity. Nicely textured on the mid-palate, while oyster shell mineral and white cherry notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Aug. 2023. Score: 88+ pts
